Once again the Hyper Bicycles team made the annual pilgrimage to the Mecca of Whistler Bike Park for The Crankworx bike festival.
A new team sprinter van support vehicle and a new team rider mixed in with the rest of the Hyper family made for a great trip.
We brought World Cup veteran team mechanic John Canepa along to keep the pit vibe relaxed and the rigs dialed and rolling smooth.
Swalty poised and ready to pounce as PK looks on.
Kevin Aiello was lucky to even be riding with only two months of recovery from a broken neck sustained while dirt jumping. We love watching "Big Kev" and his smooth flowing style and we're just happy to have him back on the bike and busting out laps.
Bas van Steenbergen carried his usual busy Crankworx schedule with a mix of racing and sponsor booth appearances, his best result landing him on the podium with a 3rd place in the Air DH.
The ever smooth Bas van Steenbergen floating into Original Sin.
Bas making the shortcuts on Goat's Gully look easy.
Steven dropping through Goat's Gully.
Jordy Scott is still a relative newcomer to the MTB world having just crossed over from high-level BMX racing. Her highlights at Crankworx were 4th in pump track with a confidence-boosting win in the 2nd semifinal run against Series Champion and Queen of Crankworx Jill Kintner.
Steven Walton is the newcomer to the Hyper MTB program and it was his first time to Whistler and Crankworx... "Swalty" spent the majority of his time exploring the bike park on shakedown laps of his new Hyper Downhill bike or keeping the Hyper troops entertained with his fun and adventurous sense of humor and pranks.
We brought team videographers Ryan Jones and Cooper Finn on the trip to document it all for daily Instagram edits as well as this recap edit here.
Big thank you to the race organizers at Crankworx for another outstanding event. We are already looking forward to next year.
