Brett Tippie gets the inside scoop from Nicholi Rogatkin and Jakub Vencl while all the heavy hitters get their first taste of the 2017 Red Bull Joyride slopestyle course.
Everybody has been saying all week, but I'll say it again. Tippie is doing a great job with these Inside the Tape features. Really interesting to get these perspectives.
was there a few weeks ago and the sheer magnitude of the set up (seen from the chairlift and riding thru on family cross) is totally lost in translation when seen on video that is why they make the big bucks and rightfully so!
@cgeuns: I can guarantee it can go one of three ways where he may stomp his run and Rogatkin still beats him, he messes up and doesn't finish his run, or he lands it with unknown insane tricks and wins.
@cgeuns: I really hope Semunuk and Rogatkin both stomp perfect runs, I would love to see how they judge that. I mean Semenuk has insane style and tons of tricks, but if Rogatkin nails a fastplant 3whip, triple whip, twister, and a whip cashroll with some other dialed tricks, thats gonna be hard to beat. Not saying Semenuk can't beat it though.
@nfstreet4life: If they both stomp their runs in that fashion, I'm certain the judges will just hang themselves instead of having to deal with that BS.
@scott-townes: I kind of hope for the number one and two option that you said!!! I mean I hope Semenuk finally does a complete unreal run but it would be AWESOME for someone/(Rogatkin) to finally get a TRIPLE CROWN WIN!!!!!
PS. And the last few events Rogatkin's been doing some first ever tricks for slopestyle.... so maybe it's time for Rogatkin's rumored 1440...
