Press Release: Momentum Mountain Biking

We just debuted our website offering bespoke private lessons, inclusive beginner group programs, all-level weekend skills camps, guided instructional tours, and full-service dream mountain bike vacation trip design.

We have also added a second year-round clubhouse location to our original base in Moab, UT. Momentum Mountain Biking now holds a spot as a founding tenant at FARM – Fruita Art Recreation Marketplace – an exciting new space for creative professionals and the outdoor industry in the heart of downtown Fruita, CO.

These developments represent steps towards our vision of utilizing our deep instructional expertise, local area knowledge, and inspirational leadership to deliver elite mountain bike instruction and tours in world-class riding destinations, with the added benefit of a fixed season-long presence.

Decorated XC racer, Alison Dunlap, shares, “I’ve had the good fortune of doing three private clinics with this team and can honestly say they completely changed my riding. Momentum’s leader, Sylvi Fae, brings a decade of knowledge as the owner and operator of Moab Mountain Bike Instruction, and nearly as long as a coach and camp manager for North America’s original traveling mountain bike camp series. Momentum Mountain Biking combines the best of her work to date with all she’s gained from years of relationship building, fine-tuning, and dedication to delivering truly next-level mountain bike instructional experiences.

 Congratulations Sylvi and the Momentum team! I am so thankful that I got to spend time learning from Sylvi and Beth this past Fall. They are amazing. As a former professional cyclist and Olympic medalist on the road, I had never taken the time to learn the technical skills of mountain biking. Sylvi and Beth were patient and incredible instructors who could adjust the lesson to really help me get the most out of my time with them. I can't wait to go back and learn more. Anyone considering mountain bike lessons should talk to Momentum. You will not be disappointed!

 Can’t say enough good about the high quality instruction, personalized coaching, and just plain fun that Momentum MTB provides. We hired MMTB to work with a group of folks who were headed out on a white rim trip. The group had a bit of everything; total newbies to very experienced riders with 40+ years of devotion to the sport. By the end of day 1, every single participant was challenged and engaged…..even the poo pooers who came into it sure they already knew everything. The instruction was fun and effective. The communication and psych were excellent. The lessons learned were the constant subject of discussion and improvement as we made our way through paradise on the White Rim.

 I'd been riding for almost 30 years when I took a weekend clinic with Sylvi and her crew. They corrected some bad habits I'd developed over the years and introduced me to new techniques that dramatically improved my ability to select fast lines and get myself out of trouble when my line selection was less than optimal. Super good people, great coaches. Psyched to see their organization continue to grow!

 First off, Sylvi is a rad instructor. Her team brings together all the knowledge and expertise anyone could ever dream of learning. Additionally, the skills that can be achieve from learning to ride the various trails in Moab allows riders from brand new to professional to increase their riding ability. I’m stoked that this company is getting some recognition and hope to see more riders utilize this incredible resource that Moab has to offer.

 Bravo Sylvi et son équipe!!!! Sylvi saved my first Moab trip with my wife when she took charge of her. She was able to teach her how to ride mtb in only a few hours where I had failed for years…. Sylvi and her team are definitely the best.

A very talented group of instructors. They came to me highly recommended from Moab locals who had taken instruction thinking “sounds fun, but what more do I need to learn?” Turned out, a lot!—and thus we followed suit! One session in I learned a number of things that helped improve my riding immediately.

Not just anyone can deliver on professionalism, friendliness, caring and expertise like these coaches do every session!  I ran into a momentum instructor at an event. I had been riding for something like 15 years and considered myself pretty good. They gave me some tips on cornering that I've kept in mind for the past two years, and I keep getting better and faster. I know that pointer helped me out and worked out a past bad habit. Thanks!

 A wonderful group of coaches and professionals. Instruction during the group camp was thorough and invaluable. I immediately noticed improvement on the trails and in my confidence. I later signed up for private coaching to work on the specific skill sets of technical climbing and drops. Morgan's level of attentiveness and instruction had me sending off the taller jump ramps in under 20 minutes. Sylvi and her crew are welcoming and professional to anyone on and off the trail. Congrats on the well earned expansion!

 @danielfloyd- I too got diagnosed as surly recently, I feel you. While I NEVER wanna share Moab trails with anyone but my friends in tow, perhaps Momentum will hone in on trail etiquette and speed up riders that'd be 'in muh way' otherwise. Nobody likes sharing, especially me. But if I gotta share, I'd prefer doing so with they that rip quietly and respectfully. I hope Momentum helps clients to these ends.
