Summit Cycles Devinci Racing at National Champs - Video
The 2016 Australian Downhill National Champs went off. The four weeks prior to the event, the town of Bright hadn't had a day under 30 degrees. As Friday morning came around, it poured down. Practice was full of crashes and wash outs - just a wild day of riding. Here's how it all went down for the Summit Cycles Devinci Racing Team!
Morning mist hanging over the track, with inbound rain bands, some riders called it quits on the morning session and waited it out until the afternoon to ride.
Practice sessions starting at 7:30 meant riders were up before the crack of dawn.
The start gate was high up in the mountains, dropping in with an amazing backdrop of the Victorian Alps.

Having a flat in race run caused Victoria to go a little slower than she would have hoped but still focusses on the positives from the weekend.

Brent is just one of those guys that is stoked on anything, mainly to be riding his bike.
Saturday afternoon brought along seeding. The only time you can compare your times against all of the other riders.
| I was feeling really good all weekend, even with some small hiccups along the way but they didn't bother me. Race run was quite smooth and clean, I had a few mistakes, but that's what happens in racing, it's really hard not to. | Sundays final was frustrating. I had a near perfect run other than one major downfall, a simple slide out in a turn putting me back to 14th. That's three years in a row I've crashed out of the national Champs.
