The 2016 Australian Downhill National Champs went off. The four weeks prior to the event, the town of Bright hadn't had a day under 30 degrees. As Friday morning came around, it poured down. Practice was full of crashes and wash outs - just a wild day of riding. Here's how it all went down for the Summit Cycles Devinci Racing Team!

bigquotesI had a fun and smooth top section, rode the off camber middle better than I had all weekend but unfortunately suffered some technical issues including a rear flat down the bottom so consequently lost time. All up I'm super happy with how I rode! - Victoria Armstrong

bigquotesI was feeling really good all weekend, even with some small hiccups along the way but they didn't bother me. Race run was quite smooth and clean, I had a few mistakes, but that's what happens in racing, it's really hard not to. I'm a little bit disappointed with a 20th but I gave it everything I had and am looking forward to the next race! - Brent Smith

bigquotesSundays final was frustrating. I had a near perfect run other than one major downfall, a simple slide out in a turn putting me back to 14th. That's three years in a row I've crashed out of the national Champs. I can say that I am happy with how I was riding and know what I could have done which has made me even more keen for my next race - the Cairns World Cup. - Graeme Mudd

Good edit, the summit cycles crew in Sydney is a step above the rest. That was some tight riding!
