If their team vehicles aren't classic 205 GTI's I won't be angry but I will very disappointed in them.
  • 15 0
 The 1.9L, though, right?
  • 4 0
Surely they will need a 309 GTI for the extra boot space?
  • 2 0
@ajrogers1978: You'd need the extra poke with a ebike on the roof, eh?
  • 2 0
@ajrogers1978: No! The 1986 1.6. I was the school yard hero. Wish I would have kept her...
  • 2 0
@enjoyriding: Yep, the 1.9 had extra bhp but weighed more too. The 1.6 was a hooligan!
  • 1 0
@MumblesBarn: Either one is rocking horse sh*t these days!!!
  • 1 0
@steviestokes: True that. I've got an old friend who purchased a 1.6 for his first car back in the mid 90s. He restored it to concourse condition and still has it now. I'd hate to think how much it's worth nowadays.
  • 1 0
@ajrogers1978: the 1.6 had a shorter ratio gearbox so was a more rev happy motor. Maybe not as quick top end but the better car ????
  • 2 0
@MumblesBarn: concourse would go for up to 20k if mileage is good last time I looked... rarer non sunroof ph1 models were slightly higher price iirc

The motor I don t care, but the 306`s chassis is the best, especially for crazy switchbacks on mountainous narrow roads ;-)
  • 3 0
@danstonQ: 205 all day for tight twisty roads. Lighter, tighter, ran on rails and accelerated like a stabbed rat
  • 1 0
@Jake-G1: you say that `cos your steerer was on the wrong side my friend!! ;-)
  • 1 0
@danstonQ: that makes no difference to how it drives ;-) still flat out on the wrong side of the road. mines back in France now. Back to its motherland

@Jake-G1: yeaah!! good horse. Keep it and shred it ;-)

It will more likely be a 2007 307SW 1.6 HDI

Finally some interesting conversation on Pinkbike.

or at least have the 205 t16 group b livery
  • 1 0
They need a 205 Turbo 16-Dakar Edition-driven by Ari Vatanen. First team on the pits.

The cringe is strong in that one.

Whatever happened to Nico Lau? He was big with Cube in EWS a few years back then not so long ago I saw he was doing this Peugeot E thing (no doubt the money was good) and then now he's not even on this team?

" I no longer want to ride an EWS and be 100% pro rider, to train and have my whole life revolve around it. of that. I'm a dad, I have a job as a body painter ( not for Peugeot, but shhh!) And I want to keep this balance. I also want to continue to be able to develop the trails in my region of Munster and to lead personal projects." - www.vojomag.com/decouverte-le-team-peugeot-cycles-2019-se-devoile-a-velizy

1987 Peugeot Ranger, my first mountain bike, saved my pocket money and worked after school to buy it, think it was about 110 gbp new. Great bike and good memories.

 Mine was a summit :-D

Not the same without Tim Gould. Am I showing my age? :-)
  • 2 0
Or Robert Miller as she was known in the late 80s, was an inspiration to me. One of the reasons I got into racing.

Shout-out to Louis Trousselier, who won the Tour de France on a Peugeot in 1905.

My first proper mtb was a Peugeot Tim Gould replica. Loved that bike! Also showing my age!
  • 3 0
@steve-de: read that Louis Trousselier story and instantly feel much younger, unborn even.

I wonder if the bikes will have the beautiful reliability of their cars...

 @mazze: eat your deads

@danstonQ: you deserve a permanent ban for that, dear neighbour. Something must be seriously wrong with your brain.

@mazze: Oh la la. what a big deal Kaporal

Peugeot working hard on their image to become a cool, modern brand. I dig it.
/offtopic: So.... "E-Enduro" World Series really is a thing now, I guess?
  • 3 0
So, if they are going to compete in EWS events, what bike are they going to race? They only have e-bikes and low end mtb bikes.
  • 2 3
Something powered by Bosch, from the looks of their jerseys.
  • 4 0
I get the song fits musically... but uhhh. I dunno... Its certainly not PG13
  • 3 1
I agree, brands should really think more carefully about the songs they associate themselves with. I don't think it makes anyone look cool to have that kind of language in your video. Commencal have done the same before. Not clever in my opinion.
  • 4 1
That is the most ridiculous, what in the holy fucking Zoolander shit is going on here, set of pictures I have ever seen. then again, it's very very Peugeot!

They do very good pepper grinders as well, check ;-)
  • 1 0
@danstonQ: literally the best! I have two! LMAO
  • 4 2
I didn't know Peugeot still made bikes.......
  • 3 0
I just had a quick look on their website. Not sure if they will compete on the e-folding bike or something from the Trekking or Legend series. I'm pretty sure there will be an stand (for in between stages) and maybe a dynamo light???

ebikes by the looks of it, the apple has fallen far from the tree

Think they were on Peugeot branded Spesh Enduro's last year.
  • 1 0
Will this be the first team that can provide their riders with cars of the same brand??
  • 3 0
 that top tube...

I used to have a Peugeot, 1970s roadbike. I didn’t know they were still around.
  • 1 0
I loved my old Peugeut road frame, made a fixie out of it. Got me started in my cycling journey, hoping the team does well/

A shit, is-it the same as the car brand?
And what about the design of the bike, i’ll try to stay polite!
Conclusion: big disappointment for me.
