The United Riders of Cumberland challenge all you riders to a duel! Bring your best and show us what you are made of! Go Fast or get out of dodge!

A showdown or a mowdown, come on out to Cumberland this Sunday, May 25th for the return of the DCDH. Third stop on the Island Cup Race Series DH schedule, the classic course is updated with some buff new lines and all the gnarcore you can handle. We've got bigger trucks for more shuttles so be sure to get your groove on before racing.

Registration is at Chinatown (1km past Cumberland on the way to Comox Lake) and shuttles leave from the yellow gate at the bottom of Sutton Ave. Registration starts at 8:30 and shuttles shortly after. $25 gets you a race and as many laps as you can handle. Just don't peak too early! We'll have some food and refreshments after the race and loads of prizes!

For those of you wishing to pre-ride the course, it will be marked on Saturday, but no shuttles will be running. Maps are available at the Riding Fool or Dodge City Cycles.

The GRMBA licensed race requires your GRMBA affiliated club membership. Day of licenses or club memberships can be purchased at the registration tent.

Pinkbike.com/Devinci DH Team's own Simon Stevenson had this to add:

"The Island Cup Series is over half way done but there is still a whole lot a fun to be had. With three weekends of racing coming up, DH racing is in full swing on the Island. On the rock racing is a little different than usual, with the onus in fun we don’t let any of that sticky red tape get in the way and I’m not talking about Tuck tape. We want to make sure it’s fun for everyone, so come on out and join us. This weekend, May 25, my good old home town of Cumberland is holding the Dodge City DH and with the course in top notch condition it promises to be a good one. Fast and furious at the top, then in to the trees for some gnarly rooty, rocky sections with some serious corners thrown in the mix, gotta love it!

Port Alice is next up with Rumblefest, June 8. This race course is amazing, you have to come and ride it for yourself to find out. Each year its got longer and more varied terrain, super fun and really challenging at the same time. The whole community seems to come out for this event to cheer on the racers. With a salmon BBQ for all on Sat night and the local pub always seems to get a bit rowdy afterwards but it’s a whole lotta good times.

Port Alberni is holding the finals this year, June 15. This race is held and built by people who are passionate about our sport and it shows. It’s always been a great event, it also helps that there’s a candy store at the bottom of the course. The top of the track is tech with lots of rocks, roots and tight corners but across the tracks, hold on to your goggles because speeds the key. With two Super D’s and two DH races already done this a hefty series and with experienced organizers, great volunteers and lots of support from our wonderful sponsors these races are always a great experience. Well to wrap it up if you if you can make it to any or all of these races, do it you won’t regret it, unless of course you don’t like to have fun."
