Katy Curd and Jake Ireland ride their local trails in some typically wet British conditions. Katy is in preparation for her sixth consecutive season riding for Rose Bikes, and her second year attacking the world cup downhill circuit. After years in the Mountain Bike media, Jake is signed up with Cube on brand ambassador duties while concentrating on a new project.

Jake's efforts this winter are going into a new suspension servicing and tuning centre, which will be based at the Pedalabikeaway cycle centre in the Forest of Dean. Sprung Suspension Workshop will be one of the best-equipped centres in the UK, with the ability to work on almost any damper out there. Jake is more than qualified for the job, with years of World Cup mechanic experience as well as some behind the scenes experience with some of the big names in bike suspension.

Katy's experience goes way back, with years riding for Giant's factory team before injury forced her to concentrate on 4X. A World Championship title later, 2014 was her last year on the gate. 2015 saw Katy return to downhill, with a World Cup podium in Fort William and consistent top ten results throughout the year. She's attacking winter training as well as running her successful coaching business this winter. She's definitely one to watch when the season starts!

Good luck to you both for 2016. I always thought there was a bit of a monopoly on quality suspension servicing in the UK so more competition must be a good thing.
