Looking for a way to express your creativity and take a much needed mental health break? Then Jill Kintner’s Mind Maintenance project may just be the perfect distraction for you.

Everyone knows the “Queen of Crankworx” and her exploits on two wheels including her multiple World Championships, Elite National Championships and Olympic medal, but off the hill many may not be aware of Jill’s personal passion for art. This has led her to study design and illustration at schools in both New York and San Francisco. And in addition to using those skills on custom helmet and apparel collaborations, poster and web designs, vehicle wraps and much more, Jill will often times draw elaborate course maps to help visualize her runs, helping with focus and providing a mental advantage over her competitors.

bigquotesJust as I train my body for sport and competition, art and creativity also help stimulate my mind, providing me with an outlet to express myself and also create mental strategies to win. That’s why I want people to join me for Mind Maintenance, a project that helps unlock your creativity and keeps your mind engaged and active during these challenging times.Jill Kintner

Fans are encouraged to take a mental health break and join Jill as each week a new design template custom illustrated by Kintner herself will be uploaded here for fans to paint/color/digitally draw/etc. One talented winner will be chosen each week to receive a bike protection kit from Ground Keeper Custom featuring the winning design. Then, for the final creativity contest, fans will get the chance to create their own custom bike frame graphics for a chance to win a brand new Norco Sight C2 hand-painted by Made Rad by Tony with the winning design!

One of my favorite athletes in the sport. My favorite thing about watching her race is the expression in her face and eyes before and during a run when the pressure is definitely on. Imagine looking over and seeing that level intensity on the face of your competitor.

I like that she is providing this to the community as an outlet during these times. I did a couple of them and didn’t submit them, but knocking the dust off my three sets of colored pencils and sticking my tongue out while I colored really was a nice respite from the anxiety I would have otherwise been experiencing.

Consistently one of the best personalities in our sport. Jill should be touring schools across the country, building a pump track in every playground.

I feel that it might not have got enough attention in the write up... If you win, you get a Carbon Sight custom painted by Tony freakin' Baumann! Like the guy who did the Snakebite and the Queen of Hearts and Aquaman's personal ride. Like a near-priceless piece of art that you can pass down to your grandkids kinda deal. Just thought that deserved a bit more hype!

I got a messege from jill this morning that my bike is in the top 3 to be selected. Probably the most exciting 15 minutes of my life, where for a brief moment I thought after 26 years of mountain biking I would finally own a new bike and not have to settle for a pinkbike clunker. Then she posted the winner...

What if I hire a graphic artist...

Then the graphic artist might win a bike. Win win for the graphic artist. Hire me! Would love it if Waki would win this though. Just for the priceless PB comment section.

You could hire me instead. Normally I wouldn't undercut someone, but I'm feeling saucy tonight.

@RonSauce: What if @AvidTrailRider just hires all of us? We may not all win a bike but at least we're being paid.

@vinay: that's a great idea, it wont be cheap, but it isnt my money being spent! I was planning on outsourcing a colorist anyway, so now I can just tag her on to the billing.

She's been putting artwork up her own website as long as I can remember. Definitely a beautiful and recognizable style.

This is odd. There is a Dutch illustrator who is also named Jill who has a very similar drawing style. Very different subjects though... www.jillsworld.nl
