Jim rides for the Steve Peat Syndicate enduro team, spending most of the year on a bouncy bike, chasing seconds. In the off season however, the lettuce often ditch the full face and hop on fully rigids, smashing bogs for fun. This part of the season is marked by one of the gnarliest events around, the Three Peaks Cyclocross. With the help of Hope, Santa Cruz, and Continental, the perfect Adventure/Cross bike was created, and Jim's now getting ready to wang some lycra on and get rowdy on the rigid. See you there sportsfans!

When will CX be cool? Never

Those in the know ride CX as well, that includes me. We're too busy enjoying blasting round anywhere and everywhere to care what you think.

Nice work Jim, bike looks mega. Love the video too.... Great to see you and your mates loving your riding, on whatever bike with whatever sized wheels! Better watch some Akrigg videos for some proper inspiration... Cheers

I was doing this in the eighties and early nineties with my road bike ,that's when I realised I needed a mountainbike, never looked back.

I've got a great idea, lets get a moto gp bike and put it on motocross track..

Give us one and we'll do it!

Why don't they run flat bars with CX bikes, wind resistance is hardly an issue is it?
  • 6 0
because getting on the drops is lowers your center of gravity, makes cornering much better, better braking etc. aero is low priority ..
  • 1 0
Then why don't they do this with XC bikes?
  • 5 0
Different style courses. XC is over much lumpier and tech terrain. Cyclocross is more like road criterium racing but in the off season on flat-ish, short circuits that include a fair amount of grass and mud.

Respect for the riding but I can't say I care really.
