After watching this I told my wife I'm taking my bike to the Ski hill. She just gave me a blank stare, the same stare I get when I take our 9 month old son to the bike shop to try out new bikes. Apparently riding my bike on a ski hill is equivalent to looking at AM/Enduro bikes for a 9 month old. Some times I feel bad for my wife, but to be fair I did warn her when we started dating!

Anyways, this Vid is savage and we need more of this in the world!

I know those looks all too well.. especially when the season is right around the corner.. the word budget is coming up way too frequently now. Also I always end up talking to her while I have a tab for new bikes open...

I believe spirit mountain in Duluth Minnesota you can ride your bike on the hill.

@icedemon05lrb: Haha I think most of us married guys have seen "the Look" when bikes get brought up. Although my wife did add the X01 eagle drive train to our budget so I count myself very fortunate!!!

any mountainbiker who already had the chance to go skiing has dreamed about doing this looking at a snowpark's jumps!

I once rode from the Whistler Roundhouse down to Garbonzo in slushy snow. It was dumb. I fell like 20 times.

I ripped through the halfpipe at our local Howelsen Hill many times before. One time as I came out the bottom a ski patroller saw me and yelled "Buy a ticket!"

Love the video, however if you watch it while listening to the James Bond 007 theme song it's amazing!

I used to convince a few friends to ride up the slopes at night on our bikes. The people who worked on the slopes had no clue what to do with us. We rode down on packed snow shoe trails. Always thought about building jumps.
  • + 1
Packed snowshoe trails is where we ride with our fatbikes... Not everywhere but a lot of place are in fact snowshoe trails. You should try fatbiking my friend! Wink

@Timo82: a fully rigid bike with tractor tires could be fun .
I have never had problems riding my bike in snow.
I used to ride my road bike on hard packed snow!
That was 30 years ago

@Sshredder: It REALLY is, if you have nice groomed trails like we now have in Quebec.

I guess it depends where you're from because here, we can't ride our summer bikes, too much snow. Only when really icy! Smile

The old man in me wants to say, "You damn kids ski/ride in the winter, and leave the biking until the snow melts!" But after watching, I'd say that was pretty damn rad.

I remember when they used to run 4 cross races through the terrain park at Canada Olympic Park in the winter. It was carnage, but also pretty fun!
  • + 1
Oh man those races were fun, but usually ended in one or two people visiting the ER!

I miss the fat tire race! So much fun

After our local ski hill closes for the season I take my Trek Farley and hit the jumps. Super fun.

That was rad. I want to know his top speed, because it looked fast.

Snow field giant 4x, make it happen.

@AntN: they used to hold 4X on snow in Australia back in the Nineties for Nine's Wide World of Sports. They loved it because of all the carnage.

I tried that on steamboat late one night and it didn’t go that well as this dude

was not expecting that to be that good. Skiers would have been way in front so use of snowboarders is understandable.

skiers would also be complaining and making dumb comments like this. i'll take you and your skier buds in a challenge of speed, style, or both. i mean seriously, there are legit skiers who like moguls. there are no legit riders who do.

As a long time skier I can say, this comment is dumb as hell
  • + 3
@leopaul: agreed, and i got too sour. i think the comment @rexluthor made shows a disrespect and lack of understanding of real mountain culture.
  • + 2
@jtayabji: indeed. I had my share of unfortunate run ins with boarders, but at the end of the day it’s not the snowboards fault but the guy/gal who stands on the board or on the skis. And saying skiers would have been way in front is just straight up stupid. They filmed it that way in purpose and if you go to fast on the jumps you just overshoot em.
