Joyride Practice: Crankworx Whistler 2016 - Photo Epic
Joyride practice has been going on silently all week but today was the first look at what the top athletes in the world have been putting down in Whistler. The deemed "prologue" was a new addition this year, where crowds gathered in the afternoon and practice was streamed on live TV. With some different opinions on whether the extra attention was a good thing or not, riders mostly sessioned the lower mountain while high winds blew across the upper part of the course.
There are lot's of new faces this year with a slimmed down riders list which mostly consisted of the top 18 FMB riders. Although the riding was seen around the world today, one can only guess who will take the title come Sunday. With a lot of course changes this year and a few new features, there will be some new tricks and combos to be seen throughout the competition.
Surrounded by camera crews, Nicholi Rogatkin awaits to drop in. An interesting practice today with a live look at what might happen tomorrow and mixed feelings on the subject.
