I have One. I allways thought my dorado was THE sjizzle. I tryed THE dvo and im really surprised How good iT preforms. Has a firm midstroke wich i like a lot. And u can set iT up REALLY plush for THE first 70mm. Diffrence of day and night when iT comes to hand fatiqeu compared to THE dorado. I find iTS worth iTS money if your not a racer because of THE weight. But damping is next level so maybe iT is for racers that dont mi d THE extra weight for better preformance
Ironically, I found them to be the opposite of 'WECustomizeBikes'. I Wholeheartedly agree with his assessment of the Dorados. Hands down, the best forks I've ever ridden on, primarily because you can adjust them so they're plush as plush can be, and conversely set 'em up through their anti-bottoming circuit to resist bottoming better than any other forks I've ridden on-be it DH or Enduro(Pike, Fox 36). I had 'em on a '14 Kona Operator, then when Kona said they were gonna release the 27.5" Operator LAST SUMMER I put it upf or sale, thinking it'd take a couple months. Well, the thing sold within a week, so I waited for the 27.5 to show up, and waited, and waited, then Kona removed it from their website and said nothing else. Needless to say I swore off Kona, but I digress. Ended up getting a smashing deal on a DVO 951, and firstly found the bike to be UBER heavy(weighed in at 41lbs on my Park scale), and maybe I got spoiled riding the Dorados, but the DVO forks AND shock were pretty freaking harsh. More harsh than any other DH fork I've ridden(the afforementioned Dorados, Coil Fox 40s, Boxxer Team and WC). I could only get the forks to either blow through their freaking stroke-resulting in a really harsh ride, or resist it by ramping up the H.S. compression. I settled on running lower air pressure, and more H.S. compression to get the best ride I could out of them, but in the end, I'd still get arm pump. As luck would have it, a guy who just bought a green 951 brand new from Jenson, responded to my ad(selling both the DVO forks and shock), so I ended up trading him for his Fox '40s(both are 2015 951s, thus his forks too were 2015s) and Cane Creek coil. I have since sold the CC shock and purchased a Fox X2-which I've decided is the best shock I've ridden, PERIOD. Just my initial setttings of seat-bouncing the bike(after setting the sag of course, which is 33%) and matching the forks with the shock, has netted me a shock that works SO well, I literally forget about it every time I ride the bike. IMO, there's not a bigger single compliment you can give a suspension piece other then (honestly) saying it works so well, it doesn't ever do anything that reminds you it's back there. Anyway, the fox forks(Factor 40s) are not as good as the Dorados either, but I got 'em a heckuva lot better than I ever got the DVOs. As far as Jenson's price on the DVOs are concerned, it looks to me like they inflated the 'normal' price to make it seem like their 'sale' price is just that...a 'sale' price. I personally don't find it a deal, so if you're looking for a set, I'd look around. Oh...! I forgot to mention the weight difference. Early on I mentioned my DVO 951 weighed 41.xxlbs on my Park scale. That was totally stock, with the tubes still in. Now that I've swapped the DVO forks and shock out for Fox 40s(Factory if it makes a difference) the new X2 air shock(which btw, is SUPER light), a set of Spank's new 'Race 33' rims, along with Saint hubs and the super-secret double-probation centerlock-ONLY Ice Tech rotors(203/203), the bike weighed in at a SPRITELY 36.03lbs!!!!!! YES ladies and gentlemen, somewhere in the process of swapping out the DVO pieces for Fox, removing the tubes and changing out the OE wheels(Stans Flow EX rims/Stans 3.30HD hubs, 203/180 'traditional' Ice Tech rotors for Spank Race 33s/Saint hubs Super-Duper Ice Techs(203/203) the bike lost OVER 5lbs!
@Grizzlycycles661: there are some shops who do that here, but interest is killer. If a car finance company is smart they should design private store finance plans and leverage their current rates on cars for bikes.
@dv8416: we have it set up so anything over $1000 is 12 mo no interest anything under $1000 is 6mo no interest that helps as long as you can get it paid off in time. otherwise they get you with a 29% rate...Its pretty ridiculous but if you can do it in the 12 months its one hell of a way to get into that new bike you're dreaming of
They're not so bad actually! Well if that isn't a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is! Don't be surprised if they email you asking if they can use your comment on their website.
"Swiss ODL One Piece Mag 100mm Forks 605b"
