Junior Results from the Glentress XC World Champs 2023

The results are in from the first XCO race of the week at Glentress. Canada's Isabella Holmgren takes home the rainbow jersey as she crossed the line 39 seconds up on fellow Canadian Marin Lowe. Natalia Grzegorzewska wrapped up the medal positions 1:24 back. Albert Philipsen rode an incredible race in the men's competition to take his second rainbow jersey in five days as the 16-year-old Danish riders also won the Junior Road World Championships. Elian Paccagnella takes the silver medal position 54 seconds off the pace with another medal for Canada as Ian Ackert ends his race just over a minute back in 3rd.

 Canada has a 1 - 2 on the podium and a Woman's Jr. DOUBLE rainbow champion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CX and XCO!

 And Ian Ackert brings home the Bronze for Canada as well. What a day!

 Geographically speaking, Canada #1 and #2 finishers may be much further away from each other than Poland's #3 and Czech Rep's #4. Regardless, it is interesting whenever there's an upset to the Swiss and French domination.

 Fingers crossed for Nico. He's been doing intervals up high above my house (10,500-11,000) like a maniac lately and then went to Scotland early to try to build some sea level power. I guess the Belgian(?) road & cyclocross champ kid is a beast though.

 Ontario doesn’t produce a lot of top mountain bikers when they do, hot damn. Brett Rheeder, Emily Batty, now the Holmgren sisters. Can’t wait to see what they do in the future!
