I love that Tips interviewed people from back in the pack. So cool. Would love one full episode on the "Also-rans" to find out what it's like for them in the shadows of all the big names.
I reckon in some cases there could be something going on inside the tire that might alter "normal" pressure ratings (similar to Procore, Flat Tire Defender, etc.) in a prototype phase that the brand itself would want to keep undercover while testing is performed
Nice. I always thought downhill bikes had like 5 different suspension adjustments front, and back. Like the damper, (high speed compression, high speed rebound, low speed compression, low speed rebound) and the air chamber pressure/spring rate for overall stiffness. Next time I go to a bike shop I'll have to check out the situation.
Rockshox are doing a good job of dumbing things down for the average weekend warrior with only low speed rebound and compression avaliable even on their top fork (internal for more then that) then air/spring. Rumour is fox is doing the same thing and dropping the RC2 damper for 'rad' which is low speed only.
Shocks are a different matter though, Fox x2 offers High and low speed adjustments, so does the ccdb.
But that's only production stuff, most of those will be on custom built units.
I once bought one of those KMC black and red 80 dollar chains.......improved my riding style and speed .000000000000001% . That kind of improvement is priceless
