The end to another spectacular ski season is near and the team at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is going to celebrate with style by hosting an action packed weekend of music, mountain bikes and dummies. In collaboration with Big Rock Brewery, KHMR will host a free Big Rock Untapped après concert on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th. The Untapped stage will feature some fresh, new Canadian talent, Vancouver based band Star Collector.
Don't forget to bring your bikes for Saturday's snow race too!In addition to the great musical line up, two spectacular spring events are also planned to return to the slopes! The Melt Freeze Cup is set to get underway at 11:00am Saturday April 5th. Featuring all the thrills and spills of downhill mountain bike racing on a snow covered course, there is no better way to get geared up for the upcoming cycling season. The Dummy Downhill will return to the mountain at 11:00am Sunday April 6th. Come witness fine construction and total destruction as Dummies on skis tackle the aerials course.
“This is an action packed weekend you don’t want to miss” says Steve Paccagnan president and general manager of Kicking Horse. “Our events on Mountain Meltdown weekend are designed to cater to the spectator and guaranteed to provide some great laughs and entertainment. As well it is a great pleasure to be hosting a Big Rock Untapped event at the Whitetooth patio”.
Registration for the Melt Freeze Cup and the Dummy Downhill is open to public; registration is now available at the Golden Guides Desk at Kicking Horse Resort Day Lodge. Over $2,000 in Prizes are up for grabs at the Melt Freeze Cup including the fastest male and female rider in both junior and senior classes along with special rewards for the best wipe out. what is with these press releases for events leaving out the #1 fact they should convey in the first sentence: where the f%@k they are!??!?
OK, i guess if you are near Kicki Horse, you know and this is who the release is geared towards, but what about everyoen else? half the time i see these it si like "wow, that is cool, i want to check that out. *click* *click* *click* hmm, where is this? *click**click**click* oh, New Zealand? Shiz. went there on vacation last year but didn't know this was there..."
yeah, it is nit-picking and just generally complaining, but it is super annoying. i will shut up now.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located in Golden BC Canada (about 3 hours west of Calgary Alberta) For next season we will make sure the event release is sent out a good couple months in advance. If you can’t make it up this weekend, head out in June and come for a rip in the Bike Park.
Cheers from the media guy.
is exactly my point. advertising should not always target existing customers, right?
even going to their webpage is a pain in the ass to figure out where it is... kind of basic information that should be at the top of the list of "things to get across"... but i digest...
Way to represent!
