Pinkbike Poll: King and Queen of the Quagmire? - Crankworx Les Gets 2016

The King and Queen of Crankworx Bernard Kerr and Anneke Beerten. I have no idea what Bernard is going to do with his 25k check but Beerten plans on loading up on gourmet chocolate from a shop in the village.
The reigning King and Queen of Crankworx, Bernie Kerr and Anneke Beerten

I'm sure you have all seen and heard about the weather in Les Gets already, but being British, let's bring it up again; Snowmelt followed by weeks and weeks of rain have caused chaos, cancellation, and cloggage of nearly every bath, shower, and drainpipe in the Les Gets and Morzine basin. Despite all this, the Whip-Off managed to go ahead on Wednesday, Dual Speed and Style went ahead earlier today, Downhill practice was a slippery affair, and Pump Track was postponed. So this leads us to the question, who will be crowned King and Queen of the Quagmire?

Casey Brown is here and has already taken the Whip-Off win. Anneke Beerten and Jill Kintner are pump track and dual slalom pinners but my money is on Casey to be the highest ranked of these three in the downhill and take the French round overall with two wins.

Casey Brown boosting into first place in the womens.
My first vote is for Casey Brown. She won the Whip-Off and she's likely to bag another victory in the downhill event.

Who will be crowned Queen of Crankworx Les Gets?

The heir to the throne in Rotorua, Ryan Howard, racked up 2nd place in Whip-Off and is one of the most stoked riders in the field, a trait that will pay dividends when bog-bashing his way through the other events. Unfortunately, the King of Rotorua, Matt Walker is injured. Bernard Kerr, the 2015 overall King somehow didn't even make it into the top ten at the Whip-Off but should claw back points in the timed events, using his previous 4X experience and his current superb downhill form.

Bernard Kerr let s everyone take a peak at his bottom bracket.
My second vote is for Bernie, winner of the overall King of Crankworx last year. Although he didn't make it into the top ten with his whips, he has a strong downhill game.

Who will be crowned King of Crankworx Les Gets?

Why is everyone saying Semenuk's gonna win? Is he competing in any events other than slopestyle?
  • 13 6
I'm guessing you haven't seen Raw 100 V2... There is so much love for Semanuk right now!!! ????

Semenuk doesn't have to enter. He wins anyway.

Don't people realise these guys have to enter multiple events to win. One or two just won't do.

Well I mean that is a part of crankworks right. I would think that Pinkbike puts him on because he competes. The question said who was the crankworks king. Slope style is one of the crankworks event right.

@Demon-chaser: Yes it is one of the events and he does enter it. Looks like it's off for this round anyway. He didn't podium in the best trick comp that replaced slopestyle so his chances are now zero. King and Queen are decided by overall points after all three Crankworx. Riders who want to win this title have to enter multiple contests at each round to get their points up. It is the guys and girls who are good all rounders that end up winning the overall title and they don't necessarily have to win any of the contests they enter.

King and Queen of Crankworx is not decided at each event. King and Queen is awarded in Whistler after all 3 Crankworx are completed. But I am sure you already knew that PB, must be a typo. The more events you compete in the better your chances are in winning the overall title in Whistler. Boom!
