Kyle Strait's Custom-Painted Commencal FRS - Red Bull Rampage 2021

Oct 14, 2021
by Ed Spratt

A true legend of Rampage, Kyle Strait first participated back in 2001 and has taken two wins in 2004 and 2013.

For this year Kyle has taken inspiration from his two vintage pick-up trucks. Kyle is running an XL FRS frame with suspension from RockShox and components from Stans, Kenda and Truvativ. Take a closer look at his custom bike below.

No more "Furious" name? They should've named the Supreme the "Fast", so they'd have the "Fast" and the "Furious."

2nd generation model would be the 2fast and the 2furious?

Interesting that he is running the old Avid Code Brakes

The turkey sounds let people know he's dropping in!

@schulte1400: I think the huge rumbling of his tyres are an indication that this man mountain is enroute!

People who run the new Codes wish they were still running the old ones

I saw that Semenuk is also running the old Codes. I hated the old Codes and love the new ones. I'm guessing they are hiding a new caliper and internals inside the old code levers. Some sort of Super Code?

I forgot where I saw it, but apparently the old code levers push 2mm of fluid and the new ones push 1.6mm of fluid. The old levers are more linear and semenuk and strait like that better

So anyone else find it interesting that the drive train is blocked out in every picture?

 Best looking bike at rampage

Is he running tubeless? Last time he was running tubes at 40psi IIRC. It may not sell the Stans message so that got me wondering as nothing is mentioned in the article/specs.

Bike check video the other day he said he’s running tubes.

It is great seeing how Kyle progressed from way back when before his "balls dropped".

Would love to see him win again.

How successful is Yeti's branding that almost any turquois frame make you think of them Smile
