Kyle Warner: Racing y Raicilla en Mexico - Video

Dec 4, 2016
by MarinBikes
Earlier in November, Marin/SR-Suntour sponsored athlete Kyle Warner won his third consecutive North American Enduro Tour title. We headed down for the last race in the Sierra Madres of Mexico, to watch him clinch the series on our brand new 2017 Hawk Hill - decked out in custom red, white and blue artwork. This marked the alloy trail bike's debut into professional competition, and his podium finish proved the capability of our new MultiTrac suspension.

"I had no idea what to expect at all, said Kyle. The course was raw and challenging, former social and hiking trails that are evolving into mountain bike trials. It lead to more of an improvisational style of riding, one that rewards quick reflexes. The Hawk Hill was selected as I wanted to showcase what it can do. I've had a lot of fun riding it and want to show people that the bike is the real deal."

"I came into the weekend with a pretty big points lead for the North American overall, and I have just been having a lot of fun riding the new bike."

Day 2 had stages through rowdy, jungle-like forests.

"Ending the season on a high note has been awesome. It's been a wild ride the last couple of years. I've done a lot of races at a lot of cool places, and I don't think we could have ended anywhere better than Mascota."

Staying on top of a bucking burro for two full seconds is far more difficult than staying on board a bicycle for solid days of racing.

All of us at Marin are super proud of Kyle and look forward to him racing hard to keep the winning streak through next season.

Now be sure to imbibe in the premier of “Racing y Raicilla,” documenting his impressive feat in this amazing part of Mexico.

Sat down next to Kyle for a beer after running the Mt. Bachelor Enduro this year. He's a faster rider than me, but I can drink a beer faster. Congrats Kyle on the series win! On a totally unrelated note, the trails in this video look amazing. I for one prefer these tighter, more natural trails to the wide-open and insanely fast machine built. Looks like a good reason to check-out Mascota, MX!

I also met Kyle at the Bachelor race. I chatted with him on the lift, not realizing it was him until the top. Kyle was so down to earth and pumped to be riding. I'll be a fan for life. Plus, he raced Bachelor completely blind, having raced in Washington the day before, and still crushed the pro class by about a minute! Props for that kind of skill and speed!!!

@ICUJeremy: Yeah, I heard him say that too. I had no idea who he was until I saw him step on stage for the prize but he's a heck of a rider.

For all the crap on here about ugly bikes for the last while, I think Marin really deserves credit for this thing! It is a really tasty looking bike. Clean lines, relatively straight tubes, not bad at all.

@rcrdrvr: I see him up there every now and then, absolutely slaying it. Super nice guy and even helps out at Greenline cycles (not sure if he still works there). Helped me pick out a new DH helmet a while back.

The guy on the burro is crazy on that cobblestone road. He should be wearing his DH armor.
