Minnaar and Jonnier win the Mens and Womens DH World Cup #3 at Leogang.

Here are a few shots from Fraser Britton of the finals.

Blenki sprints through the rain to the finish, but didn't have enough to take the win.

Steve Smith cruises to an 11th place finish, not bad for a guy who spent 2 nights
before in hospital throwing up from a concussion suffered in practice.

Minnaar rounds the final corner and step down to take the win.

Ben Reid's mechanic Ali makes a mean cup of tea. So mean, that he has to keep track of everyone who drops by for a cup!

Nathan Rankin gets the mud hosed off of him by his mechanic. And yes, it is as cold as it looks.

Always watch out if you are down stream from a beer drinking, Belgian mechanic...especially if you are doing laundry!

Brendan is all smiles despite the mud.

Wow, I thought the current Lapierre was a thing of beauty! This new design looks interesting, I wanna see more!

La Pierre in general is totaly in top 3 best looking bikes in every category from XC to DH.

And the other two are? Just curious.

Intense, Trek or or something else even though it`s all subjective

cool thing about LaPierre is that they managed to create their own image with distinctive looks and suspension design. Hard task these days with Trek, Spec, Santa Cruz, Kona or Intense around. I mean: you look at it and you know it's LaPierre. Same as with curvy Spec, or virtuous tubing of Intense. You don't need stickers with names to guess what brand it is. For example Giant and Scott, they totaly lost it.

Great job La-Pierre!

I don't mean that Giant or Scott are bad or ugly bikes. They just lost a distinctive image. Last shot of Scott was stealth-fighter look alike 2008 Gambler. Giant's first Reign X.0 was hell of a great industrial form too. Now it's still good but that "wow that's Scott" kind of thing is gone.

 where is lapier seatclamp?
  • 2 0
That's a good question, but that's where their designers just took it to another level. Watch that bolt where the black stripe ends at the rear end of the top tube Wink I don't care whether it makes any more sense than normal seat clamp, but that is a damn good piece of bike design art Wink

though in my very honest opinion it would look bit better if they prolonged this fender all the way down to the lower bolts of carbon shock cover. There would be less "WTF is this" questions Smile
