Limitless Racing 2016 Rider Recruitment

Limitless Racing is a youth development team whose aim is help and support younger riders to progress their riding to the next level. For 2016 Limitless Racing is offering support to riders racing in downhill and enduro and between the ages of 12-22.

Applications are open all year round but places are limited, it is advised you apply between the 27th of November and the 18th of January when sponsorship applications get reviewed.

The team was formed at the end of 2014 and is using its successes to build on to, to make the program as beneficial as possible. Each year there is a limited number of places opening up for next season as some of our riders find sponsors and will be riding for new teams the following year. The Limitless Racing Development Team is a buy in team, you purchase your place on the team and we supply you with the best bike, kit and training available. All of our current riders recognised the exceptional value of the package offered by Limitless Racing and received huge value for their investment. Ask any of the current team what they think of the team and you’ll get a glowing endorsement. Whilst the team is not ideal for a novice, it is open to riders who are looking to get some support for a first season of racing, to podium placing riders who are wanting a bit of extra support to stay on the podium and get faster.

The Scottish DH race program will cost: £5700
This may sound like a lot but when you break it down you are receiving a lot for that money, let's say for a bike of this spec you would be paying around £5000 then on top of that you also get all your kit, coaching sessions, pits and you race fees paid for.

so if i got accepted, would i still have to pay £4400 for the bike and gear?

So you have to pay to be on the team? I'm confused
  • 3 1
Most professional racers have to pay for their stuff, to some degree. That's why its called a "pro-deal" when you get hooked up with stuff at wholesale. Very few have boxes of bikes and gear just show up on their doorstep...

Same goes for most sports, skiing, snowboarding, etc...

It's the sad but real truth

Look at the Steve Peat syndicate, thats around £7000 I think! Its all about getting the best chances to do well, with bike, kit, pro mechanics and coaching. It can make a huge difference to your racing!

To answer your question yes, riders have to pay to join the team. Unfortunately our sport still isn't very big, so even many world class racers are having to pay for bikes and kit. We have tried to keep the prices for the team down by working with our amazing sponsors but unfortunately everything still costs money. Being a part of the team will bring up more video and photoshoot opportunities all increasing your name within riders and companies to move onto bigger things in the future. Shaun Limitless Racing

And you still have to supply your own pedals??!!
  • 1 0
Everything that is needed to ride is included in this program, so yes pedals are included. I didn't put down pedals as we are unsure of what pedals we will be using. For flats its fine they will be Burgtec Penthouse MK4. For clipless pedals we would like to be using Burgtec's new clipless pedal but it might not be availible for when the bikes get shipped out, in that case it will be Crankbrothers Mallet DH pedal.
