LINES schneefraesn 2017

5 races in the Austrian winter downhill series.

Low-pressure area "Axel" covered the Alps with snow - ideal conditions for the LINES schneefraesn. The Austrian winter downhill series steps into its second season, with five stops throughout the country:

21.01.2017: Petzen Bike Trophy, Kärnten
28.01.2017: Ride Hard on Snow, Lienz
24.02.2017: Bike'n'Snow, Bikepark Innsbruck/Muttereralmpark
11.03.2017: GlemmRide Snow DH, Saalbach Hinterglemm
18.03.2017: White Down, Semmering

Races
LINES schneefraesn offers now five possibilities to compete on slippery grounds - one more than in 2016. Two veterans and three new locations are on the calender.

"Ride Hard on Snow" in Lienz will be the hardcore highlight, with its world cup ski racing slope. The fun event "White Down" at Semmering is another race that is part of the cup once again.

New on the table are the "Petzen Bike Trophy" in Carinthia, "Bike'n'Snow" at the future Crankworx location Bikepark Innsbruck/Muttereralmpark and the "GlemmRide Snow DH" in famous Saalbach Hinterglemm.

The variety of the tracks is enormous, reaching from proper, icy world cup skiing slopes to snow-soft bike parcours. All events will be held in rider vs. rider modes and points for the overall score will be awarded at each race up to place 30, with the best four results counting. Overall winners will be awarded at the last race.

Riders
With just a few days to go and snow right in front of the doorstep, motivation is at a high for snow racing. The garages are used for drilling spikes these days and sledge runs are turned into training pistes.

Young gun Vali Höll and YouTube-Star Fabio Wibmer took victories in LINES schneefraesn 2016 edition. Both are eager to repeat exactly that.

But being a favorite is no guarantee for the win. Austria's fastest downhill racers Elke Rabeder and Markus Pekoll have been on the heels of Vali and Fabio.

Additionally, downhill veterans like Christian Altendorfer, who won the Snow-Downhill in Virgen and world cup racers like Andreas Kolb, who are using the snow races to stay in competition mode, will look for top spots.

With five races at very different venues, LINES schneefraesn 2017 will be more thrilling than ever before. You can find all infos and results at lines-mag.at/2015/schneefraesn.
