The British Downhill Series is renowned as the best National Series in the world and the past weekend in Wales proved just why. A fantastic track prepared to challenge all, with the Dave Pearce uplift service running like a Swiss watch, and sunshine, the thing that makes everything that little bit better! Inevitably though, the weather played a part in making the racing even more exciting, as an overnight downpour on Saturday made the morning seeding runs a slip-sliding affair.

The changing track conditions didn't deter the team, with Matt seeding fastest, Sam in third and then Manon second despite a tumble. The sun returned and almost dried everything out for the Sunday afternoon final and saw everyone making last minute decisions on tyre choice and bike set up, as conditions changed by the minute.

A mistake in the tight, twisty root section cost Manon valuable time and she had to settle for a solid second place. Next up for the team was Sam who also fell foul to the greasy conditions. Last man on the hill was Matt and he was looking good at split one but having mastered the technical section, fell foul to the same fate and finished off his run with mud on his gloves. Despite the crash, he still made fifth place.

On to Switzerland for the team now and the next round of the UCI World Cup in Lenzerheide, a new venue and a chance to get back to winning ways once again.
