Max Fredriksson - Off-Season Video Series

The long and cold winters in Sweden might be nice for cross-country skiers and ice skaters but it's less than ideal for mountain bikers – especially Slopestyle riders. So how does FMB World Tour ace Max Fredriksson train for the contest season? Max’s new video series ‘Off-Season’ offers a close look at how the young Swedish rider recovered from his season-ending injury in 2017 and how he prepared for the first contest at Crankworx Rotorua.

'Off-Season' series summary:

Max: The idea for ''Off-Season” was to give a closer look on what I do during the winter and how I prepare for the contest season. Other than spending a lot of time at my local parks in Sweden I went on a 5-week trip and rode with a bunch of other FMB athletes in Spain and France. The series features guest appearances by Thomas Genon, Tomas Lemoine, Brett Rheeder, Tom van Steenbergen, Louis Reboul and Simon Pagès.

Episode 1

Max: My injuries in 2017 kept me from competing as much as I wanted to. In the first episode of the series, I give a closer look on how I’ve been dealing with recovering from breaking both of my collar bones and also show what a normal session at my park looks like.

Episode 2 – Live on Wednesday, March 21, 5:00pm CET

Max: The Swedish winters are very long and pretty much leave us with no other option than riding indoor skateparks. To escape winter and get some dirt riding in before the contest season kicks off, I’ve been taking trips down to Barcelona to ride La Poma BikePark over the last few years and this year was no different. The second episode shows what we were up to in Spain and showcases the awesome vibe of one of the best public bike parks in the world.

Episode 3 – Live on Thursday, March 22, 5:00pm CET
Featuring guest appearances by Tommy G, Tomas Lemoine, Simon Pagès and Louis Reboul

Max: La Poma BikePark is an incredible bike park and I usually spend around 5 weeks down there, but this year I wanted to mix it up and decided to head across the border and ride with some friends and fellow FMB World Tour riders in France. We spent a crazy week filled with good sessions and got to ride a bunch of insane spots with my mates.

Episode 4 – Live on Friday, March 23, 5:00pm CET
Featuring guest appearances by Brett Rheeder and Tom van Steenbergen

Max: After a week in France, we spent the last remaining days of the trip back in Barcelona riding La Poma BikePark together with a bunch of friends from all over the world. Since Crankworx Rotorua crept closer, I decided to fly home a week early to ride a brand-new training facility that opened up while I was traveling. Dome Adrenaline Zone is probably the best facility I’ve ever ridden. Brett Rheeder and Tom van Steenbergen joined me on the trip and we spent a couple of days practicing and getting tricks dialled in, before flying to the other side of the world to ride the first contest since my second broken collarbone, which ended my 2017 season…
