Maxxis UK Continues to Support Pure BMX

Maxxis UK will once again support Pure BMX racing team for 2019 and look to continue our championship-winning collaboration. This will be the fourth consecutive year of the partnership.

Since its formation in 2011, Pure BMX has fast become a leading player in the BMX sector and boasts a range of successful riders in its roster, including Team GB BMX athlete Quillan Isidore. The team will be looking to defend its national championship crown in 2019, which it won with the support of Maxxis’ industry-leading technology, emerging victorious in the HSBC UK National BMX 2018 Elite Team competition. This follows its British National Championship success the previous year.

To help Pure BMX’s pursuit of success, Maxxis UK will be providing advanced rubber from our extensive range of BMX tyres, including the DTH, Torch and Relix. We have been a key player in driving technological innovation in a sport has seen a consistent increase in participation since its inclusion in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.


The DTH tyre was designed specifically for the 2008 Olympics. Its dual-compound tread provides excellent cornering and will be crucial to Pure BMX’s success in 2019. Alongside the DTH, Maxxis’ Torch features a lightweight construction and 120 TPI casing, making it the ideal tyre to gain an edge in an all-out sprint. Similarly, the Relix is optimised for the fastest track conditions in the world, with its unique, inverted chequerboard pattern offering exceptional cornering grip. Both the Torch and Relix are available with our innovative Silkworm and Silkshield technology to gain extra protection when racing.
