PRESS RELEASE: MET

Offering big protection for small heads is something that we care a lot about at MET. Famous for having introduced a wide range of kids’ helmets from the start, we put more than 30 years of experience into every little helmet we develop.

We are pleased today to introduce a new generation, the MET Hooray and MET Hooray Mips®.

The new MET Hooray is safer, more comfortable, and has plenty of toddler-specific features that will make each parent’s life easier, while protecting the first rides of the next generation of cyclists.

It features, for example, our unique MET Bimbi Secure Technology, that ensures there’s no pressure points on the fontanel, the softest part of a developing head.

The shell of the MET Hooray has a purposely flattened part at the back in order to be comfortable in any child seat. It also covers a large part of the two most sensitive brain areas; the back and the temples.

Thanks to the new MET Safe-T JR the helmet will grow up with the child’s head. The retention system is easily adjustable due to the grippy nub and the 360° head belt ensures a stable and secure fit.

We took special care to create child’s helmets, our unique MET Bimbi Secure Technology ensures that there’s no pressure points on the fontanel, the softest part of a developing head.

The ratchet buckle makes it easier to secure the helmet avoiding unexpected pinches on the skin.

The internal shape features an engineered air channeling system to facilitate the airflow. To complete the safety equipment we have added an anti-insects net into the front vents of the helmet.

At MET we take kids’ safety very seriously, all the production batches of the Hooray and Hooray Mips® are strictly tested in our lab, leaving nothing to chance.

To complete the safety equipment, on the MET Hooray Mips®, the MIPS-C2® rotational management system is engineered to add extra safety to the standard construction of helmets in case of certain impacts.

Featuring the MET Rear Led Light, the Hooray Mips® offers up to 60 hours of extra visibility to spot a child in all conditions.

Missing the military grade Kevlar bullet proof lining, otherwise what kind of protection is this for US kids?

Surely we don’t need guns, that’s what the police are for. Oh wait, you defunded the police. Oh wait, the police sat outside of the school and did nothing as gunman walked unmolested through the school for over an hour. Sad & evil, but government won’t be the solution, it never is.

@draggingbreak Kinda pukey that you would say something like this even tongue in cheek, did it leave a bad taste in your mouth joking about this subject?
  • 4 3
@landscapeben: Just capitalist's market ideas, ya know $$$$ from murder is situation normal. Put that idea next to the brightly colored kids ballistic blankets and Kevlar kid's backpacks. USA gun control, lack of it is the only real joke that is sickening.

@draggingbrake: Please feel free to leave our country and take your ideas with you.

@wda1wustl: Keep up that willful ignorance, you show a lot of it

Cute, but if my kids can’t drop them/throw them on concrete then it’s pointless. Real active kids try to break everything, including themselves. Make helmets that can take repeated impacts, adjust to multiple head shapes, and breath well enough that they aren’t going to take it off.

true! Also, at 90 bucks this thing better come with an Apple AirTag so I can find my kids when they ride off... or at least retrieve the valuable helmet even if my kids are still nowhere to be found.

I think they are working on the plastic bubble that has leg holes so your child can still pedal but be protected from anything dangerous in life.

I was thinking similar. These are very cool, but they're not going to hold up (at least cosmetically) for the long-term as they're just built like any other helmet (thin lexan over EPS foam).

What kids need is the durability of a skate helmet, but light and comfortable.

Can we get these amazing colorways in adult-size helmets please?

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that Smile

Never mind ratchet buckle, the answer is fidlock. I retrofitted them to all my families helmets. Well worth while, made all the difference and no pinching involved.
  • 1 0
Yes. My son’s full face helmet has Fidlock, which he can do up/undo himself, but he simply doesn’t have the finger strength needed to undo the buckle on his trail lid.

Cratoni helmets also have the rachet system, my 3 and 5 year olds can both take them off, the 5 year old can put it on by himself. A way better system than pinchy clips

Dang, that helmet with the squirrel on it would go real well in hunting season!
