This past weekend Mike Montgomery came up from San Diego to compete in
AT's Showdown! Mike's been riding bikes all of his life. He's raced and competed in all sorts of BMX events since he was 12. Now he's joined the list of top Freestyle Mountain Bike Riders in the world. During
AT's Showdown Mike and I discussed his 2010 sponsors and I shot a few pictures of his bike for you all to see.
Please click here to read the full article including pictures and video. As of right now Mike is riding a 2010 Atomlab Trail King. I loved the look of this bike at first site. The parts, matching fork and overall appearance of the bike was amazing. Check it out!

Mike is a very intense and innovative rider! He goes big, does amazing tricks and promotes his sponsors to the fullest. Everything you would expect from a pro rider. Here are some pics I pulled from
Mike's profile of him riding over the past year!
Every rider has their fair share of injuries. Mike is definitely proof of that! In the picture below, mike is t-whipping a drop at FISE, after having a severe ankle break one week before! With the broken ankle, he still placed 6th.
I asked Mike about his list of injuries! Pretty crazy list.-Front tire washed out while landing a 360 over a spine at Da Compound when he was 18. Mike landed on his side and his elbow pressed in and broke 5 ribs, lacerated his spleen, organ displacement and major internal bleeding.
Mike had a 25% chance of living after the surgery was preformed. Glad you're with us Mike, and pumped you continued to ride your bike! Mike was back on his bike within three months. Then more injuries.
-Broken back, compressed two discs
-Broke both wrists at the same time
-Broke ankle
-Has been riding with both ACL's torn, without surgery over the past two years
With all these injuries and a close to death experience, Mike is on his bike and riding as hard as ever! Mike said, "I want to be an innovative rider and show people what's possible on a bike."
Big shout out from Mike to his sponsors: Magoo at
SNAFU, for hooking Mike up with all his components.

Beyond Bikes Rupublik. "Matt at Republik is one of the raddest dudes you'll ever meet. Matt has a vision that pushes mountain biking by designing clothes that truly represent a bike rider. Not all riders like to wear moto or race kits. That is where Republik comes in. Look for a new team riders list release, it's a doozy!" -Mike Montgomery.
I'll leave you with Mike's older web edit! Enjoy!
Mike will have a press release soon on his new bike sponsor. So stay tuned for the news! Thanks Mike!

I thought they made one of them already, except the wheels were smaller and it was called a BMX...
