We took a second lap of the Croatian pits for another helping of tech randoms as things turn more serious with practice approaching. Bikes are nearing completion and riders are ready to tackle the Croatian rocks tomorrow morning...

No more information could be gathered but the riders seem to be very happy with the new stoppers.

Only chance making it down the course without issue is to run side dy side to the finish line.
I send a bos kirk2 on a friends behalf a couple of times for warranty, got a replacement and same shit, ended up getting a fox x2 from orbea as he could not get more than half a ride before having a serious issue with the kirk, 0 reliability whatsoever...
Shame
I will never buy BOS suspension again....I just threw my Kirk away and went with Fox...no issues and happy riding now...no warranty support = waste of money
@dannyc87: No problems here either. Had five BOS forks and three shocks, and still run some of them. The one time a had a repair to be done it took ~ 2 weeks incl. postage (was done by sports nut). Direct contact with bos never took more than 3 days via email and the small parts I ordered directly from BOS were shipped within a week. Except the issue with the one fork the parts were as reliable as they get. Otoh my new 36 developed bushing play within 20 days of riding.
Still their idea of running a business is pretty strange, like not having a website for quite some time and the issues others actually had with customer service.
So stoked to see Transition in the World Cup. Out of all the bikes I have ever owned I can honestly say they have produced the most giant grins on my face (okay, my first Kuwahara BMX is up there as well)!
went to a demo day for north shore bike shop a few years ago and tried out the first generation patrol. i can confirm that transition makes some of the most fun bikes around
Cool to see all the change up in parts this year for all teams. Looks like there's a lot less complete SRAM and Fox + Shimano going on. Great to see companies like Hope get on some high end teams. And the Gwin TRP brakes being used on multiple teams - I'm sure they're stoked.
@SnowshoeRider4Life: most of those brands always made top notch parts for quite a time, never taken seriously though as funds and sponsorship deals wheren't their forte, as they spend their money developing their stuff instead paying to be advertised Learn your stuff
*All teenage pinkbike sellers* "Custom Fox 32 fork decal on the 40 to give it 10 extra horsepower when doing the climbs. Decal makes it climb like a goat and descend like a GOAT on cocaine. $9,000 OBO"
I have a hard time believing it’s a coincidence that SRAM/Shimano have been displaced by so many small(er) component brands an so many teams all at once. Is the industry so strong right now that smaller companies have more marketing budget? Have SRAM/Shimano pulled back? There has to be a story here...
Caption on Finn's photo says "used in course preview". Are we expecting Claudio's preview soon? With Finn? Hot damn this time of year has me so fuggin excited.
@nozes: Thanks for actually answering, I have no experience with dual crown forks. With a single crown fork this has always been a major annoyance. Didnt realize asking a question was going to send me into downvote hell.
When working on your single crown just slide a long allen key (8 or 10 mm) down the top tube at an angle to hold the assembly on till you're ready to put the fork back in
CrankBros Wheels looking good sticker says, “designed in the USA” (by an Aussie they bought for his design) Great to see Mello Bouwmeesters design getting out there!!
That Transition is sick, except for that downtube sticker that looks like a decal without the top layer peeled off. Just plain white or light gray letters would have been awesome. Or is that seriously the case and they just haven't peeled it off yet? I am confused.
@mollow: hey dude- had no idea Claudio got hurt at the time of posting, as it wasn’t public knowledge yet. Chill out- I’m just excited for the season to start.
@rideonjon: I would think a single spherical bearing would do that in a much more efficient way, do they want the rear end moving 20 degrees out of whack?
I'm probably a horrible person, but I am kind of hoping to see the Unno in a crash (as long as nobody gets hurt obviously, I'm not an animal), just because of how over the top 'boutique' it is pushing itself as.
you are a horrible person
shame on you
I hope you get a paper cut on your tongue
From a razor in a paper cup
I hope every soda you drink already shaken up
I hope your dreams dry like raisins in the baking sun
I hope your titties all saggy in your early 20's
I hope there's always snow in your driveway
I hope you never get off Fridays
And you work at a Friday's that's always busy on Fridays
I hope you win the lottery and lose your ticket
I hope it's Ben and Socrates poop all up in your kitchen
I hope the zipper on your jacket get stuck
And your headphones short, and your charger don't work
And you spill shit on your shirt
Shame that all the rest of us mortals are stuck dealing with them via email/phone and waiting for 2-3 months for warranty replacements.
It's part of their legacy!
"Claudio is a boss, always charges and keeps on pushing the sport. He crashed during the Red Bull course POV today, hit his head pretty hard and is under 24-hour observation. Sven Martin checks in with him in the pits earlier today.
