DJ Brandt - Airfields: DJ Brandt's latest video, Airfields, delivers in a big way. DJ said: "This is for sure the hardest I've ever worked for a video. I feel like all of my riding in the past years has come together for this one. Thanks to Tory and Mongoose for helping me achieve my goal on this one!" Filmed in Virgin, Utah, DJ definitely created something progressive that also shows his unique style.

Amir Kabbani - Raw 60 - My Slope: A little video project realised with the help of Nico Gilles, Christian Weinmann and myself. Turn up the volume, lean back and enjoy the sounds of bikes.

Amir Kabbani - Raw 60 Part 2 - Home Lappin´ Simply captured the cold and wet start of winter at home on the trail bike.

Peter Sagan - Diverge: We gave two-time defending World Champion Peter Sagan the all-new Diverge and a film crew, and told him he could do whatever he wanted. This is what happened.

I Am Specialized - Peter Sagan: There's been a winter's worth of talk about Peter Sagan and Milan-San Remo, but as the day draws close, we bring you one of the only voices that matter—Sagan's own. Watch for his take on La Primavera in the first episode of I Am Specialized.

Mike Aitken - Anthem II: It's Aitken week. Enjoy.

Mike Aitken - Fit Life: Timeless style.

Mike Aitken - Thats It! Still holds up.

Mike Aitken - Electronical: Another classic part.

My War - Ryan Decenzo: This double set has been sitting here in San Francisco for years, and besides a Diego Bucchieri Ollie back in 1999, nobody has rolled away from anything. Enter Ryan Decenzo...

Classics - Eric Koston Menikmati: Another classic Koston part.

Water II: An ode to the sea, which I revere most.

One Seven Eight: How do you create a life that balances work, family and your passion for the mountains? In the first episode of BDTV, we travel to Jämtland, Sweden, where Henrik Westling recently became the first person to climb and ski every one of the region's 178 summits. In doing so, he did more than accomplish a goal: he found a way of living that will inspire you to rethink how you create balance in your life.

Candide Thovex - Ski The World: This is amazing.

While Aitken has so much style it just felt uneasy watching those videos.. the whole time im thinking why is the guy not wearing a helmet.. are they too expensive? or is he affraid people will laugh at him? is it just about being bad-ass and coo?
Stopped after the crash at the beginning of "Thats it" on that relatively small rail. That wud have been a joke for him if he wore a helmet but he clearly hurt himself. Scrolled to the comments to see if anyone else finds this just plain stupid..nope. Did a quick google on the guy.. almost killed himself with a head-injury.. really hard to grasp.
He could be still cruising like he used to if he wore some kind of helmet..wudnt be that cool, i know, but he cud ride his bike and have fun.
Long story short: i dont get it!

yeah he fucked himself up badly. Full on brain injury. Had to learn to walk, talk , ride a bike all over again. It's just plain stupid and I totallty agree with you.

Ya, that fall made my head hurt.
  • 7 1
What irritates me even more is that there are dudes who rode with him back then that still don't wear helmets.
  • 4 1
At least he is now heavily making politics for wearing helmets...

@Oolex: it sucks to see that attitude. It won’t happen to me! Just be safe! Especially so if it’s your ruddy livelihood & living! It makes no sense at all to me either.
  • 2 1
It's part of the culture with BMX (along with some dubious fashion trends). I'd rather have brakes too but they don't seem need them either and they are a legal requirement for all bikes on the road. (At least they are in the UK and helmets are not)
  • 4 1
Was the same with the Nathan Williams video a while back. These guys are idolized by millions of kids around the world who want to copy them and be just like them, including not wearing a helmet. Maybe they should be showing the way forward and implementing safety before its too late. And maybe pinkbike stop promoting their videos where they dont promote safety???

@doe222: "These guys are idolized by millions of kids around the world who want to copy them and be just like them, including not wearing a helmet"

I'd love to see the stats on that. If your child is copying what someone is not wearing, you're a terrible parent. Its as simple as that.
  • 2 1
@scott-townes: Where I live the very few kids I see riding (to school) generally have helmets but take them off when out of parental view and ride with them dangling from the bars.
  • 1 2
I couldn't even get thru half of the 1st video I watched.
He still comes out to some of the BMX races and rides, he can ride, but nothing like he was. He was effed up for a long time & will never, ever be the same.

I pass on vids of guys with no helmets, you would think people would learn what could happen. But again, people know what happens when they smoke & people still smoke.

@djm35: You watch all the children in your town that are biking to school? That's pretty creepy. Seriously though, you just tried to make a connection between kids riding to school on bikes vs. the influence of action sports athletes on how children make decisions. Stop being absurd.
  • 5 2
@scott-townes: What are you accusing me of, having sight? There are two junior schools on my road so I can't avoid kids. I have noticed that only a tiny percentage of them ride there on bikes. Where did I say this trend had anything to do with action sports athletes? I didn't, I just observed them having but not wearing helmets and the parents were not there. In conclusion, parents can influence kids when they're not around but cannot enforce their rules. The decision not to wear helmets was probably down to peer pressure.
  • 2 3
God every time some one on this site does anything without a helmet everyone has to bitch and cry. face the fact that people can do whatever the hell they want with their own bodies. If you think its a good idea to wear a helmet then wear one and shut up. If you want to possibly smash your head into the pavement sweet thats your choice. so tired of seeing this same topic every movie monday
  • 2 4
@scott-townes: nailed it. parents these days love placing the blame on anyone but them selves.
  • 2 0
@scott-townes: I'm glad you find parenting 'as simple as that'. I sure don't. Sucks to find out that because my kid identifies with someone and emulates something about them sometimes, that makes me a terrible parent. I'll have to meet your perfect kids someday that have never done something you don't want them to.
  • 1 0
@scott-townes: If you had to choose either brakes or a helmet which would you have?
  • 3 0
@scott-townes: Easy mate, just go to your local skatepark and see what the kids are wearing on their heads.
  • 1 3
@number44: Yeah parenting is as simple as that. I grew up watching MTB and ski movies where drinking and smoking were prevalent, where certain skiers and MTBers never wore a helmet and guess what? I still wore a helmet and didn't copy everything they were doing because I didn't have shitty parents.

If your child is relying more on some action sports athlete than the parent, then you are doing a horrible job as a parent. Action sports athletes are not responsible for raising your kids correctly. They're paid to do what they love which is not parenting.
  • 3 0
@scott-townes: Your parents could have done a bit better with your manners...
  • 1 1
@TheDwayyo: A few parents of the commentators here could have done a bit better in teaching them not to blame others for their failures as parents.

Peter Sagan is a cold hard legend... even if he is a road biker

from back of the pack to top 3 in less than a lap against the best XC riders in the world at the Olympics. He's pretty impressive no matter what he's riding.

@RobKong: He has been a pretty decent xc rider for years now!

Once again, BMX places its collective nuts on the chin of mountain bikes. I just wish they'd wear helmets.

Every kid grew up with their set of heroes.. Mike Aitken was it for me!
I'de be lying if I said I didn't copy his riding style 99.9% of the time.

I might've even worn tight pants because of him.. ha

I didn't even know Mongoose was still making bikes.
  • 5 1
 Heard of Chris Akrigg?
  • 1 0
@BenPea: In all fairness have you seen how ugly the current Teocali is? Looked at their website and bleh.
  • 1 0
@BaeckerX1: ha! Doesn't mean it doesn't exist! And Mongoose is a many-headed beast, probably owned by a big conglomerate who know how to mix up cheap and expensive, thus guaranteeing their continued presence.
  • 1 2
Westcoast Pinkbike time, it's still Sunday! Sunday night movies for the win!
