Riding Off Cliffs: Reed Boggs grew up on the flatlands of Ohio with dreams of freeride lines only seen in the glossy pages of magazines. After honing his skills at indoor bike parks imitating those big mountain sends, he moved out west and dedicated his life to riding off cliffs with hopes of one day winning Red Bull Rampage. We follow along with Reed and document his sacrifices, hijinks, friendships forged in the desert, and the consequences and rewards of livin' life on two wheels.

I don't know if it is just me but does anyone else find mtb edits and films rather boring and unoriginal? They rarely have much of a story behind them. Though the riding off cliffs one was pretty good.

We might be in a doldrum state where people have settled on a "what makes a MTB edit". You're right, they're all the same right now whether it's Shimano or Yeti or Crank Bros, etc.

Sadly, those edits are usually the most successful. They want to reach outside the MTB audience, and bring in mainstream viewers. But I'm hopin there is more influence from 50to01 and Mahalo My Dude coming, more personality and light hearted content. There was an amazing video recently that had a really fun, flowy style... Trying to think what it was... Some MTB/MX kid... God, that's gonna kill me. I'll reply to this if I remember the name.

They’re devoid of any kind of character or grit.

I feel you, I prefer watching random mtb youtubers riding trails with their friends, way more fun to watch and you can actually learn something about new trails, riding technique or whatever.

If you think you're badass doing mtb, remember some people do bigger jumps than you ever will with no helmet, no pads, no brakes and no suspension, and probably a little bit drunk too. At least that's what I realized watching the f*ck*** best edit .
