How to Get Your Girlfriend Hooked on Mountain Biking: As a female rider, guys I meet on the trail will often say "I wish I could get my girlfriend into mountain biking." So I made this video with some tips to help you fellas get your girlfriends hooked on mountain biking. I realize there's no magic formula but I hope these tips will help us all get more lady-gals out riding.
Kamloops - The Send Awakens Pt. 6: These days it can be hard to get everyone's schedules lined up for a long weekend trip, but in May 2017 the stars aligned, and the boys were in. Kamloops is a magical place with diverse riding. We hit some amazing spots, had some great camping, and rode some f*cking bikes.
Norwegian Adventures:On September 2nd 2017, Pinkbike teamed up with Bikester to send the winners of the Ultimate Adventure contest on a dream holiday to Norway, specifically to boat around the Fjords and then hit up some epic mountain bike trails.
Steffi, The Biker - Redefine Your Limits: “Limits don’t hold me back. They drive me forwards.”
Jeff Lenosky -Trail Boss: Bennett Gap: This episode I travel to my favorite place to ride in North America and I check out one of the most well know trails in the park, Bennett Gap. This fast flowy downhill has a few "hike a bike" sections that I needed to check out and find out if they were rideable. Follow along!
Dan Foley - Still Filming: Dan is giving Rich Forne a serious run for best rider/filmmaker in BMX.

Life Coach: When conditions became unfavourable for a first ascent of Alaska’s Ruth Gorge, Alex Honnold turns the camera on Renan Ozturk for a strangely beautiful discussion about life’s big questions.
Great video ! But this not only for girlfriends, those advices stay 100% valid for anyone you'd like to introduce to mountain biking! Mtbing is an individual sport, yes, but if you bring someone for a ride it is your "duty" to support him/her because 1) you are the reason he/she is there 2) it's funnier together 3) you are the one ensuring he/she is having good time. I'll 100% try to apply this with my girlfriend... when I find one.
@fartymarty: Yes! ( Actually it's me, who introduced my parents to mtb when I was 8 )
I remember when I first did the switch to clipless, I had a pair with clips on a side and a regular flat face ( not talking about the spd's inserts). This relieved so much stress, I think it would be a no brainer once again.
@BartDM: If you and your friends are bummed out when your girlfriends come along, I think that speaks more to your romantic relationships than your cycling.
That being said, I think it's healthy for couple to have interests independent of one another.
@HK-Mazur: I agree, not only that... when it's time for a new bike, my wife gets it when I want to shell out for a high end ride! Sometimes we ride together, sometimes we ride with our own guy/girl friends (for that matter plenty of my rides are solo too). They're all good!
@mikeyrides: It's a personal opinion of mine that if you seek hobbies to get away from your SO, you may have chosen the wrong person to be with for the rest of your life.
I will try to do anything I can to get away from dealing with the baby, though, lol!
Drop off baby at grandma's and go ride/snowboard/whatever with mommy
@HamsterPants: that is my idea too. I ride once a week with my wife and I have to say it is very nice time we spend together. But I do have that need to ride alone frome time to time. And when I ride with my boys, I just want to ride with them; when I fall off they just say" that was insane I got that on camera" :-)
@HK-Mazur: Plus doing things as a family//couple gives so much more motivation. I'm now 21 and the whole family has pretty much stopped biking ( looking forward to start over) because we no longer have the time to do all of our activities seriously. But my parents used to pretty much be at the same level and it helped them more than one morning to go out and train in winter! ( I would be lying if I was not saying it wasn't my case too). I remember it created a great emulation, a lot of experience to share and great travel ( crossing alps, turkey, involvement in club etc..)
Thanks! And I absolutely agree that these tips apply to getting just about anyone into mountain biking. Women's topics are going to be a big staple for my YT channel but I'm glad you raised that point.
Good work Betty, but the concept of a mountain biking girlfriend sounds to me like some kind of insane utopia, and it will remain so now that you've given me the entirely irrational fear that I might one day get smoked by a girl rider who has a few decades less experience than me.
Oh, and Dakota Roche is a f*cking animal. Looking forward to the helmet debate (I'm not).
The Hangover is one of the best vids I've seen in a while. As soon as she told Eddie "I wish all your friends were as mature as you" I knew I was gonna be good.
Thanks Dusty Betty for this important contribution. For us euros the biggest challenge is finding interesting easy trails. There are really only manicured flow trails which are boring after two runs or hiking paths which immediatly have some tough switchbacks, loose rocks or off camber wet roots.... above a cliff.... That's been my wife's main gripe although she loves heading our every time. BC was a different story...:-) You guys have it good! Cheers
Same reason skaters won't. Same reason they smoke cigs and antagonize the cops on camera. It's a sport dominated by and marketed towards teenaged bad boys.
D Foley again, and again, and again. His collection of vids (most self filmed) are a breath of fresh air. Plus, smokin flat tables-out are the new, New.
Me! I did plenty of that stuff wrong. Started her out with an inadequate bike. Took her out on trails that were way above beginner level. Rode a head then waited for her to catch up sometimes. Threw lots of instructions at her while she was riding. But she kept at it. Inspite of me. Now she's on a Bronson and she's out there 4 times a week. With or without me. My wife's badass.
