1) wasnt pretentious with a bunch of fake ooh and aahs and claps or look at me when i was a kid and now i rock 2) had actual new tricks, these are the hardest 3) had a really nice edit
the only thing it could have been missing is a massive jump, but honestly, that's still my favorite anyway
Super impressive in it's own right. Bike handling skills on another level compared to the others. And that insane front flip at the end. IMO the only real competition to Vestavik.
Vestavik was impressive but IMO McAskill is just better - while the former has massive balls obviously, its pretty sloopy. The later makes it look like actual magic. I don't even understand how hes pulling some of the slides - everything's perfect
Yep, his overall bike handling and especially slow speed bike control, even backwards, is second to none.
There goes the rest of my mtb self worth, that's left after watching Brandon and Brage
Danny's the best. Spends months learning whole news ways to ride his bike and then puts them ALL into a simple video without a 7 minute introduction. Then does it again. And again.
Danny can have fun riding anywhere. I think that is his genius beyond his mind-boggling skills, he makes the coolest stuff out of something that looks terrible to try and ride.
I remember from the edit where he first did the front-flip over a fence bit, he mentioned it was the hardest trick in the bit and had to practice it a bunch of times.
I wonder if he's done it enough that it's easier for him now, or if he was wrecking a bunch in the snow before he got it right?
It's a new trick again, not a repeat of what he did before. In the Skye video it was front wheel into the fence, in this it's back wheel into a stump to get the rotation.
Its cool to see all different, but very very good riders who come from different disciplines in the sport all compete in one contest. Like you got the big mountain dudes vs Danny mac and his insane trials style of riding. Where else would you see that? Its sick!
nobody riding a bike makes me smile as consistently as danny, and that includes my wee one.
it's all just ridiculously class and ridiculously difficult
Honestly one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, if you didn't know what level he rode at you'd never believe it from speaking to him, a true gentleman.
Can only second that - met him at the World Cup in Fort William and he was just riding his SC trials bike around talking to people. Happy to chat and pose for pictures. Just an outstanding person.
That is what makes Danny's riding so entertaining isn't it? All the multilayered tricks with so many individual moves stuffed so close together on a single hit when just the one big jump on its own would already be enough to make most edits.

Danny's technic level is the best, but this edit (as his others) still looks like a family program
Insane riding , brilliant vid
