it would be sick to see him end up on a yeti again after all these years! idk the details of his mid season quit, but i dont think anybody can really judge his situation if they arnt him! sick rider, sick style. can't wait to see him racing more.

to aenema > im pretty sure he had to quit due to a knee reconstruction, or something to that extent... ive rode with him a few times now and i know enough to know that he wouldnt just throw sponsers and his career out the window for no reason. and sure, he is a big guy and looks unfit, but he has always seemed that way i guess....

Someone please tell me that the Aussie DH team are gonna give him another shot or two at a Worlds title,i mean he's a couple of years younger than Peaty i think, and anyone who knows of him,and as followed a bit of his career,be it through DVD's or magazines, knows fine well that on his day,in ideal conditions he could take a Worlds title.I'd like to see Rennie take a Worlds, and i'm sure most of his competitors would, same with Gracia.

Im pretty sure he quit halfway because he was struggling with an injury and Morewood were withholding both Mitch delfs and Rennies pay. Rip it up in the Nationals Rennie!

Bjammin, you may be thinking of Jason Rennie, a UK moto rider (who happens to also hold the world record for the longest jump on a bicycle, set a few weeks after Nathan Rennie attempted the record).

Firs time I heard about Rennie when he was ridding for Yeti - he become one of my favourite riders, and he still is one of them.

I reckon if he's gonna race any WC's he's got to get fitter. I reckon that hampered him a bit (as did injury and poor sponsorship etc) in his last few seasons.

Check out Chain Smoke 2 - he was ridding there - good luck Nathan.

all those metal poles shouldn't be allowed next to a race course. only a matter of time until someone will crash and will fall into one of them.
  • 1 0
They aren't metal poles buddy, they are conduit, like plastic, the only metal was at the finish area.

 yes Rennie is back awesome

Rennie quit halfway through a WC season. Why would any sponsor stick with an athlete who up and up quits and throws out the window all his obligations and thanks for the support they were giving him. He was an amazing rider with great results and still growing potential. Seems to me that he wasted all of that and I lost respect. Will give him a chance to earn it back but he has to earn it along with backing from sponsors all over again. I wish him luck and all but that video didn't wow me, especially with him just coasting across the finish line looking as unfit as he did back when he quit.

Theres an Interview in Ausse Mag Revolution (Issue 19 April 2010) where Rennie goes into a lot of detail.

I'm not going to type out the whole thing but basically things were promised that were not delivered alot of negativity and then the pay checks stopped coming.

If it is all true and I dont see Rennie as someone who would lie after being in the game for so long I dont blame him for walking out. Maybe not the most mature thing to do but cmon.... its RENNIE!!!

PS: If anyone wants it I will scan the interview and throw it up somewhere. Just PM me or something.

You should note that he had a stack during his race run, notice the dirt on his shoulder and hand, it might just be me but after a stack I may not be that enthused about sprinting the finish.

Injuries combined with his sponsors not paying him sounds to me like a fairly good reason to quit aenema...

If you look at any other rider, red bull stick by them, i mean look at some of the riders they sponsored when they were juniours, they are shit but they still sponsor them. I would thought they would have stuck with him,

why he didnt race last year ?
  • 3 1
Wasn't happy on his Morewood, couldn't get a good deal going for himself on a bike which he would be fast on, decided to take a year off and join the rat race. (From what i remember, dont quote me on it)
