Niner Bikes Partners With GENCO Mongolia Bike Challenge

Backcountry.com team riders Sager and Dong to race Niner Jet 9 RDO and Air 9 RDO in Mongolia.

Global Marketing Manager Carla Hukee states, "This event is exactly right for Niner - it combines mind blowing adventure, spectacular natural beauty and seven days of very tough racing. We are really excited to have Ian Hylands using his lens to capture this international racing story and the efforts of the Backcountry.com team athletes, as well as, all the other international riders who will be attending on our bikes."

Niner is sending Ian Hylands as the Official Event Photographer. With his resume and accomplishments, his artistic eye will be perfect to capture the action at the 2014 GENCO Mongolia Bike Challenge.


After a strong 4th Place Finish in 2013, Jason Sager (Backcountry.com) will return to the GENCO Mongolia Bike Challenge on his new Jet 9 RDO. Says Sager, “The GENCO Mongolia Bike Challenge requires patience, endurance, mental toughness and most importantly, a relaxed and curious attitude to handle the travel, adventure, and challenges that you’ll find both on and off the bike. I rode a hardtail in 2013, but I think for 2014 I’m going to come back with Niner’s Jet 9 RDO full suspension. I’ve never found myself complaining about being too comfortable!”


Sager will be joined in Mongolia by his Backcountry.com Teammate Evelyn Dong. Coming from a ski racing background, Dong has rocketed onto the US MTB scene in past couple of years. Already in 2014 she has finished 5th at both the UCI HC event at Bonelli Park and the C1 event in Fontana, CA. “Right now, I have the Jet 9 RDO and Air 9 RDO to pick between for races," says Dong. "Having the option to choose between the full suspension and the hardtail is great. Working with Niner has given me the opportunity to see how much thought and engineering goes into these bikes, not to mention how seriously they take rider input. I will go with the Air 9 RDO in Mongolia.”
