Round 2 | June 7th-8th | North Shore Enduro | BC Enduro Series, Presented by NORCO | $90

REGISTER HERE - BC ENDURO SERIES

If you were going to spend one weekend of the year riding your bike, June 7th and 8th, should be the one! There is more bike riding happening this weekend then there are hipsters in Portland. It's a weekend of fun racing, socializing, bikes and good eatin'.

This round of the BC Enduro Series presented by Norco, is supported by one of the most well known shops on the North Shore, Norco John Henry Bikes and they have been on board helping out to ensure that the course is dialed, the music is pumpin' and the refreshments are kept cold. This two day Enduro is expected to be one of the most technical courses throughout the series, so bring your tubeless tires, your 160mm fork and your strong hands! But don't be scared off....the amount of mind blowing work that has been put into the trails over the past year, still allows for the course to cater to all styles of riders. If you feel intimidated, then just take your time and you will be sweet and super stoked by the end of the day.

Have to say, I'm a little disappointed with the trail choice as well. So much awesome work going on lately on Seymour on trails like the High School Loop and Forever After and instead we're racing down Ned's? And climbing Old Buck three times in one weekend? Ho-hum...

Very disappointed with the choice of Pangor as there are lots of manditory skinny wooden features making the course less than inclusive. Corkscrew to Pingu would be a much more suitable track in my opinion. I do understand the politics of track selection and race prep especially in an area with so many overlapping 'governing' bodies. I applaude the organizers for their hard work and know that it is impossible to please everyone with what is selected.

Forever after has a lot of pedal on it to make it a suitable enduro course and it's still relatively new. It was our first pick but Races down newer trails doesn't pass permit applications. Eg we are doing circuit 8 but we aren't allowed to have a timed section down circuit 8 to fisherman's as there is concern it will get ripped up before it gets packed down from just being re-built and we can't go down twin bridges to cut the course shorter because its a high public use area with hikers and dogs. We could start at the top of the trail network on Sunday to avoid 2 climbs up old buck, but then you get that other half complaining about starting and finishing in different locations with the logistics of shuttles and getting back to awards on time. Its takes just 30mins to pedal from the start on day 2 to the top of Pingu - so its not that bad. We can't just choose any trail and go with it - there are 4 districts to pay and get course approval from so it does limit options. But for the most part people are stoked on the course and super happy to be out riding the trails on Seymour, which is awesome - Thanks! Oh and feedback is always welcome, so feel free to list your 'ideal' course here (not just trail names but an actual course that links together) and we can review for next year.

That's too bad about the permits. I don't have any issues with the course. I'm looking forward to it! There were a lot of happy faces last night at the toonie, so even some of the less traveled routes will be a winner (Blair range). You really can't avoid two climbs up old buck for a longer Enduro... For future, if permits were granted, it would be awesome to see:

Starting at Parkgate. Climb up Old Buck (which will be easier next year with the reroute), and further up and across to TNT.

St1 TNT-top part of Dales-Mushroom to power lines
Hang a left head to Pingu.
st2 Pingu-Pangor connector. To BP.
Back up to Severed
stg3 Severed-Shorn-C buster

Back up to the BP, scoot past Severed on the power line a few hundred meters

Stg4 Forever After

Stg5 Full Highscool back around to Bridal

Pedal bridal to the new cardiac

stg6 upper sticks and stones, down into the Blair range like the last toonie.

Granted TNT is quite a push up, so if that wouldn't work you could add more on after the High School stage, say pedal over and do Greenland-Bottletop (that little climb would be an equalizer!)

Just some suggestions. I understand it's very hard to please everybody, especially on the Shore :-)

Or reverse some of that and have a grand daddy of a final stage. A bit of a pipe dream, due to the technical nature of Lower Dales. But imagine a stage TNT-Full Dales-Forever After-highschool. At could potentially be a 30minute descentSmile

day 1 sure has a lot of untimed sections, I guess so they can run the enduro and xc at the same time?

Making the trip down to do this. can't wait!

Looks like a great event! Too bad, however, it's not utilizing Forever After, probably the best new trail on Seymour that offers everything from tech to full on fast flow (and it's got length). The map shows it as Aftertaste, and New Aftertaste
