While everyone in Vancouver and around the world was busy getting Olympic'd, the North Shore was having the best winter riding season ever. The snow line was at an all time low, and everybody was getting way high.

This three part photo essay is a look into what's been going on around here.

Hey everybody, here's the Olympics...just don't go anywhere near the place. Or, just go ride the Shore. It's empty.

Or go check out East Hastings street. They really put out all the stops to recruit the next generation of great people.

Or seriously, just go riding.

Ok, so there was a little snow for a week in February. But hey, usually right here at this time of year there's like five feet of snow. This little dusting didn't deter shit.

Great shots and write-up!! The Shore is one of the greatest riding experiences at any time of year!! The wet season makes it feel like cheating when you ride it bone dry!! Keep up the shovel-ninja work Digger!!

How does cedar ride in the wet? I'd hate to try riding any of that if its anything like the wood over here.

I got the pleasure to meet Digger this past Saturday while I was ridding the amazing job he's done in Ladies Only, the trail right now is awesome and he says it's not finish yet Smile

By the way, where is that wall ride and the log-bridge that Tippie is riding?

the REAL secret is the Sunshine Coast: shuttle up the B&K logging road near Roberts Creek [at least as high as Seymour but way more options for connecting trails down so you can ride fast and long] and go crazy on Mach Chicken and a hundred others with way more flow than the North Shore and still real enough with oodles of technical do-dads - one episode of Kranked was filmed in the very road side [down hill] dirt jumps i do - it has beginner, interm; and advanced [ and i mean advanced, SICKER THAN SICK !] You can drive 25 min from Vancouver, take a Ferry [ vehicles anywhere from $55 up ] from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale drive 10 minutes to Gibsons, get a cheap hostel room [$15-$20+ a nite] overlooking the bay and then drive 20 minutes to the B&K then 15 minutes up [ 2 vehicle shuttle ] and rip till you puke all day [ shuttle by bike is an hour at least, so i recommend you take two vehicles and someone from the area who knows the trails - there is a bike shop in Gibsons and Sechelt for maps and info ] If anyone wants i can put them in touch with a local who knows and does the trails]
