With the North East seeing over a months rainfall in one day the finishing field looks more like a lake than a race village. With more predicted rainfall this week we have no guarantees the field will dry up in time thus leaving zero access to the site. We caught up with local resident Noah who was in the adjoining field rapidly shepherding his flock, “I’ve just had to re-felt the roof of my old boat as it looks like it might be coming out of retirement soon..”

We have therefore quickly moved the venue to Innerleithen which is the U.Ks No1 destination for Downhill racing and is the most established of race venues situated a stones throw from the picturesque town. The chosen course is littered with rocks, exposed roots and ruts to challenge the best of them. Add the tightly packed trees and steep twisting corners this is a technicians dream, for those of you with wide bars, watch your knuckles!

Parking, spectating and camping is always free at the NPS and the crew from Monster Energy will be providing their huge sound system and massive Wigwam for everyone to chill out in. Live timing and commentating along with several retailers and caterers on-site and a MTB film showing on the big screen Saturday night means this is a great weekend for the riders and spectators!

Stay Unclipped and pray for a dry one! Or we might end up needing Noah and his old boat for the last round. Why can't we all live in southern California?

Dude, the visor reversed is for aerodynamics! Sure to save those precious milliseconds on a fast course, could be the difference between podium and no-hoper. >ö

 Guys,

AS stated it's rained cats and dogs, especially in the North East with a months rainfall in one weekend.
Regards Caersws, the main field flooded in the middle of the summer at the Caersws Cup rd2 on the Saturday evening. Thus meaning everyone had to be towed out. As well as those who woke up at 02:00 with their tents flooded and cars axle deep. Hence no Caersws as the field is again flooded as we speak.

Rheola? I was there last week for teh Dragon, the pits are 1/2 full of logs and one further quarter is huge puddles, leaving a postage stamp sized area for dry pits. There is also no room for the large marquee or finish arena.

So yes, 4/5 in Scotland and I live in Birmingham some 5hrs drive away. I was there this weekend for the SDA and will be back up there Thursday a.m.
If you don't like travelling, then take up knitting.

There is also no point complaining and criticising unless you are prepared to help solve the problem and help us get all weather tracks and carparks.

Cheers.

Si..
