Colors like electrified

We've spent quite some time debating with Szymon how and what he feels like riding a 27.5 FUZZ in the crazy Utah hills. We were discussing tricks, riding style, and speed he's looking for in his runs and what makes him the most confident on the step downs, rotations etc. We all ended up with an agreement to try to build a unique set-up merging together the 27.5" front end with the old school 26" rear end. The aim of such a transformation of the bike was to receive a shorter wheelbase and a rear end of the bike which affects the most the spinning factor.

This was a game-changer for Szymon.

After a couple of tests and different setups, we have agreed on the final one adding also the 2.0-degree headset angle, to make the bikehandling even more radical.

Headsets provided by Works Components

The bike is equipped with polished alloy and violet Hope Tech parts like brakes, crankarms, stem, or seatpost. This also matches perfectly with the colorful Industry Nine wheels with Continental Tires.

Oil rub NS pedals match perfectly to violet Hope parts

Speaking about the wheels, it's worth mentioning those are not stock ones. They are also designed and built specifically for this particular bike. We have chosen a couple of spoke colors to fit not only the Hope parts, but also the colors used in the frame design. We love it!

Despite the bike had been visualized by Aleksander from NS Bikes Design Department, without those two the bike couldn't be finalized. Painted from scratch by Dreamworkers, build-up and fine-tuned by ThirtyThree Bicycle Studio- great job guys!

When will mini mullets be for sale to the free riding public? Beleive it or not we do exist
  • 1 0
 Yes please
  • 6 2
@mtbikesince87: only has 160 and can’t be double crowned
  • 5 4
@NoahJ: Reed, Kurt and Brandan all rode 2021 Rampage on 160ish bikes and one of those guys didn't have a duel crown.
  • 6 0
@mtbikesince87: yeah, brandon's had 180 at least tho. 160 isn't bad for freeride but more is better if done correctly of course. I would definitely take a Banshee they are pretty sick

My Solid Strike is mini mullet if you can find one.

 Build one ...

Brandon was on a 200/200 session lol. You can get a 200 zeb AirPrint. Look in the Manual. Say 160-200@mtbikesince87:

@freeridejerk888: I looked at his bike check and you're correct, I remembered that wrong. Still Kurt and Reed.
  • 1 0
@freeridejerk888: do you know where to buy the 200mm? I can see on the sram website it says up to 200 but I can only see up to 190 available to buy.
  • 1 0
I’m not really sure. My best bet is to go to a shop and have them
Look at srams parts on their dealer website. @NoahJ:

@freeridejerk888 @mtbikesince87: He ran a 190mm Zeb. Confirmed in the bike check article (could always be a blackbox thing that he was running):

pinkbike.com/news/brandon-semenuks-slopestyle-inspired-red-bull-rampage-bike.html

I saw that they had the 200mm listed in the service manual, but it doesn't seem to the airshaft isn't available in the parts catalogue, and it's not listed anywhere else (including the main page for the Zeb on Srams site). It could be a typo on Srams part. Sram's site lists 150-190 here www.sram.com/en/rockshox/models/fs-zeb-ult-a2#product-detail-gallery-zoom, but the service page lists a 200mm, although, no actual part in the parts catalogue.

Well the zeb is taller than the equivalent dual crown so it’s prolly evened out. I would call your tech rep and see what they have to say. Could be a good idea to see if it’s true @leon-forfar:

 @mtbikesince87: Currently riding a V3.2 with a 180mm fork and 26" wheels. Can confirm it f*cking rips! Freeride and 26 ain't dead
  • 2 0
 @blackghostbike: I'm on a Spitfire but my shop has a Rune V3 mini mullet and it's super fun. That's a sick build 26" with a 180 fork.
  • 1 0
@mtbikesince87: Sick!!! I bet the rune mullet would be great, maybe one day...
  • 23 0
 Damn that's a sweet build!
  • 21 1
It weighs nothing! Godziek has the quality to do something next Friday.

“a shorter read end for better handling”

Very interesting …
  • 9 1
yes, yes short chainstays are better
  • 4 0
But the engraving on the flip chip is for the driveside, it looks short but says it's long... Reminds me of something.
  • 8 0
That bike is sick. I can't wait to see what craziness goes down at rampage 2022.

Mini mullet? Kick it old school and mini a Cannondale Gemini or Perp. Shred til ya dead.
  • 9 0
would eat and sleep with this bike
and probably say things like,
Don’t touch my Fuzz cuz
  • 8 0
Does this mean continental will make another run of Baron tires in 26? I need a few.
  • 6 0
26 mullet big bikes for the people too please
  • 6 0
Would you just look at it
  • 2 0
Someone have the low down on how/why they took it down to 180mm travel frame? I assume in that mullet configuration taking the travel down would make the geo even more funky but maybe they figured something else out?
  • 6 1
Guessing it’s just a shorter shock than stock making the bike sit down in its travel a bit. Causes the shock progression to ramp up sooner and lets him run a firmer spring with less sag without making the bb height feel sky high. Depending on the axle path, might even shorten the rear end a touch

26 and short shock would bring the head angle to a ~61 zone. Article mentions a “2.0-degree headset angle, to make the bikehandling even more radical”. Funny because you can see in the pictures that it’s running it 2 degrees steeper, which brings the geometry back to normal.
  • 3 0
@Lylat: I thinck that shock's eye to eye lenght is the same as stock, but its has a limited travel because 26" at the back lowered bb
  • 1 0
 @Lylat: this makes sense. Thanks!
  • 3 0
I see what works for the Rampage king will work for the rest. Brandon takes another win i feel
  • 2 0
One trick pony, but I'll bet it's very, very good at being a Rampage bike. Hope Szymon rides to his potential this year at Rampage!!
  • 3 0
Yeah this is how its done.
  • 3 0
Just shy of 33lbs...for the non metric peeps
  • 4 0
 27.2 aint dead
  • 1 0
 Another standard.. 27.2!!
  • 2 0
I know straight pull hubs are good but I am the only one that loves a fat flange?
  • 2 0
Where can I get those spokes Big Grin
  • 1 0
I think the front spokes are regular production whereas the rear ones are custom via i9
  • 2 0
 Absolutely beautiful bike!
  • 1 0
Xynotal Front? struck me more as a rear specific tire, and Ramage doesnt seem like the place to compromise on grip?
  • 2 0
I think maybe you want the rolling speed to make sure you're clearing jumps? Idk.
  • 2 0
The paddle type pattern is probably really good for braking. Kinda like running a DHR2 in front
  • 1 0
Stunning paint job and a decent weight to considering some of the part choices.
  • 2 0
I took the NS from Poland to Utaaaah!
  • 1 0
I have a 26/27.5 mullet Transition Covert & it is a absolute blast to ride!
  • 1 0
Much better looking than all the camo ones that have been around over the last10 years.
  • 1 0
"... 2.0-degree headset angle, to make the bikehandling even more radical."

Killer use of the lingo, dude.
  • 1 1
You could put twenty inch wheels on it or 29 inch wheels and the wheelbase is exactly the same. Surely a bike company knows this.
  • 1 0
Completely skipped over that he's running double rotors front and back. "For steez" he said XD Is that even a thing?
  • 1 0
Hell Yeah. Dream build in Poland, in my home City Wroclaw
  • 1 0
My god thats a good looking whip
  • 2 0
 Radness...
  • 1 0
36t in the front.. some high speeds !
  • 2 0
 Don't forget it's a 26" rear wheel though, so that's pretty much the same as a 32T on a 29er
  • 1 0
@mountainsofsussex: ah, thanks for the reminder. Valid point
  • 2 1
 That's one sweet Polish Kielbasa!!
  • 3 0
I'm rather confident referring to your bike as a sausage would sound totally bizarre in Polish. n.p.
Dude #1 tak, tak, to jest mója kiełbasa, fajna jest.
Dude #2 o co to kurwa gadasz???

 @nikifor88: faktycznie

 26 is alive!
  • 7 0
pro's only. Us normies aren't qualified for other options than 29 or 29 mullet. Pro's are the only people in the world who like hitting jumps and tricking on DH bikes.
