Frugals Orange Creamsicle Shakes and Cheesburger Combo meals seemed to be the theme food for this weekend's NW Cup #3. Held on the 'Not-So' Dry Hill DH track in lovely Port Angeles, WA. The racing was fierce and here's my re-cap for those of you who couldn't get off work or had prior obligations. You missed a doozy.

A small crowd of young racers from Canada were first in line to practice and they set the hyped tone for the rest of us. N-Dub productions was busy with banners and site preparation, the timing team was gathering rider information and creating the start lists. Typically each racer averaged 5-7 practice runs before being physically exhausted and unable to hold onto the bike. It's about this time racers filter out to the local eateries and hotels. Some even head to the local campsite and stay self sufficient.

Saturday the crowds swelled and it was obvious this was the day to get your training runs dialed. The shuttle line was pretty packed most of the day and the trucks kept on moving. The only noticeable difference was the heat, you would sweat your ass off and get dehydrated each run. It was like 'Bikram' Yoga and the smell would increasingly get worse through out the day. I hope some fans get installed for the finals in July (23-25th)!
NW Cup #3 offered the 'First Timers' special and there were some takers.
