PRESS RELEASE: NW Cup race series

The NW Cup race series enters into its 11th year of racing in the PNW. Growth is always on the agenda, and this year is no different as we add a round to the series in beautiful Whitefish, Montana. More on that later. The series now consists of 8 races at 5 venues, across 4 states, with 2 Pro GRT rounds in the mix. NW Cup strives to provide a high quality and memorable experience for the whole family. Whether you're the 6-year-old first timer, mom or dad, a weekend warrior, to the seasoned Pro, you will find world-class racing with a grassroots atmosphere. In the spirit of the late, great Warren Miller, "if you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do!"

April 13-15, Round 1/Pro GRT

Round 1 kicks off on the hallowed soil that is Dry Hill, in "Always Sunny Port Angeles, WA". With the season opener doubling up as a Pro Gravity Racing Tour stop, the tone will be set for a fantastic year of racing. Top Pro's and Juniors from across the Country will descend upon the NW to sample the goods this beautiful region provides. ]

May 4-6, Round 2

With dirt conditions still in their prime, racers will get one more chance to enjoy the spoils of Dry Hill Bike Park while the snow continues to melt at the rest of the venues.

June 1-3, Round 3

Next, things head South to the legendary Mt. Hood, in Government Camp, OR. Two words describe the terrain at Mt. Hood, Raw and Real! Venue Host, Petr Kakes has been putting on race in the NW for over two decades. If you haven't had the chance to enjoy racing in this part of the NW, Skibowl should be on your bucket list.

June 22-24, Round 4

Now in its 4th year on the NW Cup series, Silver Mountain Bike Park comes in swinging with fresh tracks for the 2018 season. With quality race tracks and a fantastic trail network, SMBP has something to satisfy every racers appetite. Truly a destination resort, the village offers onsite accommodations and an indoor water park to enhance your visit. The Silver Valley is fast becoming a favorite among NW racers.

July 13-15, Round 5

The circus next slides back to Washington to the amazing Stevens Pass Bike Park. Stevens continues to deliver the goods to NW Cup racers, from fun challenging trails to a lift system that will provide all the runs the body can take.

July 27-29 Round 6/Pro GRT

Next, the series heads back to the "Gem State" for another stop of the Pro Gravity Racing Tour at Tamarack Bike Park in McCaul, ID. This will be the sophomore year for Tamarack in the series. From the moment we pulled the tape in 2017, the crew at TBP began modification and new construction to further enhance the racer experience. The NW Cup crew will also be making a trip immediately following round 3 from Mt. Hood to Tamarack to work with the crew to make this first time Pro GRT stop one to remember.

August 24-26 Round 7

After a post-2017 series scouting mission for new venues, Whitefish Bike Park in Montana rose to the top and was a no-brainer to add to the Cup. WBP has an extensive network of trails for all skill levels, and is coupled with the amazing mountain town of Whitefish, sure to indulge racers and families alike.

September 7-9 Round 8/The Finals

To wrap things up, the series finishes up in Washington for the final round at Stevens Pass Bike Parks. This will be the last chance to seal victory on an overall championship in the 2018 NW Cup!

The 2018 NW Cup Race Series is dedicated to the memory of Declan Ervin ( 2001-2018 ) Cat 1 Junior Overall Champion for 2017. This year, we all ride for Declan #178! #irideforDeclan
