Just a couple of months away from the kick-off of downhill racing in the Pacific Northwest. We've been doing tons of work over the off-season to make 2015 sicker than ever. This year we'll be hitting four different venues over the seven race series. Some old favorites, some new tracks, and a brand new venue. Check out the schedule here.

2015 Venues

Round 1, April 24-26 will see the return of the Underworld Cup in all its past glory. On the heels of Sea Otter, and now being UCI sanctioned, we should have a killer elite turnout. We've got a little extra in store for this one so watch for details as we get closer. This is also the opening round of the newly invigorated USA Cycling Pro GRT which we are stoked to kick-off. There are some new changes and new requirements based on the UCI and Pro GRT sanctioning which we will cover through our Facebook page in the coming months.

We are all incredibly fortunate to have the support of these amazing sponsors for 2015.

Pre-registration for the first two races open now at CCN Bikes.

Is there any way I could race cat1 or cat2? I have never raced outside of Alaska before, and don't want to be in the beginner class. Usa cycling said I can get a license for cat3 but nothing else. Any help would be great! Thanks dudes!

You can always race Cat 2. To race Cat 1 you must have results in 2 first in order to get the license.

thanks man! I appreciate it! I am flying into seattle and taking a bus to port angeles. Im not going to have a way to get my bike from my hotel to the hill. Is there anyone I could get in contact with to help me with such transportation?
Thanks dude!

I would go on our Facebook page and say where you are staying to see if someone can help. Usually the hotels are all full of DH'ers. If you hit a dead end for some reason just contact me, though I'll be pretty busy that weekend.

Do the entry fees stay the same or do they go up as we get closer to the race? Also how do the classes work? I assume its pro (fastest) to cat 3 (slowest)? Never raced before but im super excited for this years NW cup!

The entry fees will stay the same. You've got your categories right, the only additional thing is that you have to place into CAT 1 and above. It is so much fun dude, these races are all so sick.

fees stay the same. You can pay at the event but cash only there.
Cat3 (beginner) if you have never raced before. you will need a 2 day temp license from USA cycling. They sell them on site or when you register online.

Cool. How do you place into those classes? is there a timed practice that gets you a spot in cat 1 or something?

results get you moved up. You can put yourself into cat2 whenever you want. Need to get 3 top 5's in cat2 to go to cat1 I think. ITs all on USA cycling's website.

I dont want to sandbag the beginner class. Just because ive never raced before dosent mean im a begginner. So i can enter cat 2 and if i get in the top 5 3 times i can move up to cat 1? I plan on registering online so i will get my usa cycling temp lisence then.

 What all of them said.

What does all out racing do for nw cup? Besides think they're way better then they are and drive a big motor home? They are not anyone I would want to represent my series especially if you knew them outside of racing.

Not sure of your issues with them. From our perspective they have been super committed to the series for years now. They show up prior to the event and help put the carnival together. They take the time and effort to organize a team and this year are contributing financially to enhance our parking situation specifically at Dry Hill, which I think everyone can appreciate. We very much appreciate all the help we can get to make things better each year.

I know for the Silver Mountain round you wont need a dedicated DH bike. Any all mountain bike will be just fine. I cant speak for the other tracks though as i have never been.
