Jump on board with Agata Bulska for a lap down the New Zealand DH National Championships course at Cardrona. Dry rock and dirt makes way to a river of mud. Finals are today so keep an eye out for the official Pinkbike Highlights video coming up soon!

 awful angle for a course preview...

 Yeah, I can't comment on the track, but the bars look nice!

 Does anyone else think the gimbal mount for mountain biking just make an awful video?

 One word. Boobs. Fair credit to Agata though she didn't know this would be a course preview. Wyn ran it too, but we had a few technical issues...then the rain came and it wasn't safe for a rerun. It was this or nothing.

 lucky she's one of the few kiwis wearing gloves... touching a brake disk right after a run is dangerous as hell.

 Right? Even with gloves I woulda thought her glove'd be a bit singed. I've melted part of my shorts before on a disk...

 she's not a kiwi Wink

 Not a fan of these recent super steady gimbal chesty clips. There's a point where too smooth is just boring, the camera's gotta shake a bit to show how rowdy the course is. This looks like he's cruising down a tarmac road!

 I also think that the current techniques over-stabilize various aspects like turn entrances and rough sections. Would be helpful if gimbals had an option to only adjust the basic angle. Then we'd see more from the track (instead of sky/ground in many videos) and still experience the roughness

 no-action cam

 I think the problem is the cameraspot or angle. If you watch this video of Andreu Lacondeguy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUBMQznYuBM I would rather prefer a steady gimbal then a "normal" harness mount, now you can really see the track. The problem with GoPro is that they flat everything out, no matter how steep the track or trail is.

 Anyway the technology on those gymballs is very surprising!

 I thought it was fastened just the end bit wasn't clipped up?

 @Callum-H: Yup spot on! The helmet was otherwise tight and secure.

 Marzocchis appear far more often in New Zealand than in the US. Love to see them. Oh and thanks for the preview. Course looks long and awkward, with the most challenging sections at the bottom when arms are fatigued. Have a great race all!

 She's no Claudio, that's for sure. But she kept at it pretty well. When I take videos like that, my grunts and bellows of air escaping my chest sound like I'm getting beat up and kicked in the ribs in a dark alley.

 Track looks awkward to me

 If that's tarmac where you live, i'd have a word with your road builders lol;

 Having ridden at Cardrona quite a bit I can honestly say that track is WAY gnarlier than it looks in the vid...
