Best storytelling, access, and film making around mtb racing. Hands down. Kudos!

Now thats a nice insight in racing!! And that Richie`s riding at 5:41!! :O These guys are really the most talented riders and thats why I like to see the real speed when they are hitting stuff not slowmo!

Why would you just stand in the middle of the trail, knowing that racers are flying through?

And he is pissed off like it wasn't his fault

Did Damien not get a re-run of the stage or anything? If that happened in DH it would be a full re-run.

I have been waiting for this video to be posted on Pinkbike purely so I can comment on this incident. I cannot believe the spectator was pissed off like it wasn't his fault. Absolute idiot and really dangerous for both parties.

 what an idiot
  • 4 2
@I kinda thought it was Damian who was hollering and the spectator was apologizing.
  • 6 0
@jyemen: nah that's definitely a French accent that says 'sorry man' and rides off into the distance. Also look at his face once he's gone round the corner. Clearly pissed.
  • 3 2
@bentown: I gotta disagree here. The "sorry man" was a kiwi accent and also not something Damian (or even somone who wasn't ranked number 2 in the world at that time) would say in that situation. The spectator is swearing at himself in the final frames.

Hey everyone I have found the spectator!

@panaphonic: Nah I'm kidding. I'll concede on your point about who said what - I re-listened and I think it is Oton who is shouting, I thought it was the spectator. Either way, easily avoidable and dangerous error to be made by a spectator.

The spectator was lucky it was oton and not Curtis or Richie that hit him!
  • 3 0
@jyemen: Exactly this... it was the spectator saying sorry... and he was swearing himself indeed for staying on the track...
It is the same like in rally sports and road cycling..... spectators a part of the sport... sometimes negative though

@jyemen: Sorry for downvoting you. You were right listen to Oton's voice in the interview before and then the screaming. It's exactly the same voice. Spectator was really calm and probably embarassed.

 @colincolin: its all good

Oton is probably thinking New Zealand hates him. Last EWS in 2015, crashed and was injured.

Very cool to see Wyn take the win. I wish it was Richie that hit the moron crossing the track. Hulk smash that douche.
