LMAO race face dropper470 retail? Go f*ck yourself
  • 19 0
Funny you say that. I paid full retail and now it's not holding air. I'm currently trying to figure out how to warranty this thing since I purchased it online. If they don't fix a $400 dropper I'll never buy a Race Face product again in my life.

@chriskneeland: see my comment below. Good luck......

Crashed after a sixc bar broke and they told me they wouldn't do crash replacement.... @chriskneeland:

@chriskneeland: I am pretty sure this is a 9.8 rebranded! Contact them, they have the fix for your post its a super cheap part They fix mine under warranty right away and had no problem with it in 2 years.
  • 6 1
lol and with the insane deal they are having it now costs the same as the One Up dropper, which has more travel, an insanely easy setup, and has performed perfectly in the first year for me. Don't know how other droppers are going to survive against OneUp.
  • 2 1
@green727: One up is awesome, and you can buy the cartridge and fix it your self! But they don't make a 200mm travel post
  • 2 2
@freeridejerk888: I'm sure you were just riding along when suddenly.....
  • 1 0
@dutflip: Thanks man. I appreciate the input. That may be the route I want to go.
  • 3 0
@chriskneeland: I finally had enough of my reverb and ripped it out of my seat tube like the hulk and installed a transfer and I 've never been mountain bike happier.
  • 1 0
@dutflip: you're right. I believe Raceface has since didtched 9.8. I had the misfortune to buy a 9.8 dropper and it's gone back 4 times! They developed a retrofit part to stop it leaking but only gave me one after I complained. Hard to believe they're still going.
  • 2 0
@Super7: is thompson still making their dropper post? I had one a while ago and loved it
  • 3 0
@Super7: @dutflip The old RaceFace post is the same design license as 9point8, but it is not the same post. They basically used the same system and technology as 9point8 but instead of using quality parts they used crap plastic. Nothing but horror stories about the RF version, which is unfortunate for 9point8 because they make a good product. The new raceface post is a rebranded Fox Transfer (Fox owns them) and is essentially the same thing. Not a crap materials remake.
  • 1 0
@dutflip: Who makes a 200mm travel post? Smile
  • 2 0
@green727: 9point8 make a 200mm dropper! Over in europe there's a new 212mm dropper from Vecnum but I don't think you can get it in north america.
  • 1 0
@gbeaks33: your timeline is correct but 9.8 made a crap post out of good materials. They seem to have found a fix now and after 3 years mine is finally working.
  • 1 0
@Super7: i bought mine right away when they came out and had to warranty with 3 months but since then been perfect, Well Way better then all the other post i ever owned
  • 1 0
@chriskneeland: hey dude! Search the MTBR forms. There is a thread on this exact Race Face post, and issues associated. In that form, there are also some fixes that seem to be working very well for people.

Long story short, RF spec'ed the post with some seals that were not ideal. I'll also point out that 9.8 has seal and brake issues of their own that were no worse. I *believe* the for your post, is to source some relatively cheap deals from 9.8, and use them in your Race Face. I think the fix is pretty easy if you are mechanically inclined at all. Cheap and easy, and your post will function really well after.
  • 1 0
 @dutflip: They do now...
  • 1 0
 Yep

I bought a sale priced Race Face dropper earlier this year (179$). Rode it for a couple weeks and it starting leaking air. (Installed to torque specs!) Race Face is not offering replacement, in fact they offered to fix the dropper for 175$ ! No thanks RACE FACE, you just lost a loyal customer of two decades! Go ahead and keep my 3 week old broken dropper, I'm sure you can add it to your mountain of broken carbon cranks and Turbine droppers.

was it the rebranded fox or the old style?
  • 1 2
I am pretty sure this is a 9.8 rebranded! Contact them, they have the fix for your post its a super cheap part They fix mine under warranty right away and had no problem with it in 2 years.
  • 1 1
@dutflip: Are you saying 9.8 fixed your Raceface post on warranty?
  • 5 0
Mine fail after about 6 months, Race face straight up ignored my multiple attempts to contact their warranty dept.$400 post in the metal recycling, f*ck you Raceface.
  • 3 0
I like Race Face stuff, but there has been issues with support and backing their stuff. I think it has to do with the major drama of their several bankruptcies and change of ownership. Fox owns it now.
  • 1 0
@rideonjon: nope they fixed my 9.8 but since its the same post they have the fix for it and it like a 15$ part
  • 1 0
@dutflip: it's not the same post. The top nut has the same thread and is compatible. The kit required is the v1 to v2 top nut kit and it costs $67 USD.So not a $15 part.

 Lacking some intensity
  • 3 0
f*ck you Luxotica. How much did you pay someone to figure out how to make a 20% off promo actually not worth a single f*cking cent. Used to love Ryder. Still swear by their glasses. But holy f*ck are Luxotica total complete c*nts.

Looks like spesh enduros are bombing in price, be interesting to see if they come out with a redesign, or shake up the business model a bit.
  • 5 4
That design is pure shit, anyone can see that.
  • 2 2
It's specced really nice. Might be worth buying, and transferring the parts to a different frame.
  • 1 0
Yep, coming out with new design next year. Talked to a guy who woks for Specialized at work
  • 2 0
Is it me or is the "sale" price on the enduro about how much it normally retails for?

 What is a bike tube?
  • 1 0
Another set of 'No deals'. 'Sale' prices are higher than not so long ago regular prices.
  • 3 2
85$ Assegai? Still pass, still stick to Schwalbe or Vittoria.
  • 2 0
 No turner sultans?
  • 2 1
Why do they keep making these posts again?
