deals so good, you'll consider limping along on your current setup.

I know right. That Evil Calling frame is more expensive than what Evil themselves was selling it for. Granted they dont have anymore, but still, Im not sure why it says retail is $3300?

@chillrider199: $2,639 for a new carbon frame from a premium brand is totally reasonable, especially when you can’t get your hands on similar bikes like the Spur at any price.

I honestly would have pulled the trigger if not for superboost 157. Needing a new wheelset kind of kills the value proposition there for me.

@chillrider199: Disregard, I was thinking of the new Following (all the Evils look the same to me). I didn’t realize the 27.5 version was still in production.

You don’t want to upgrade your XT drivetrain to Deore? Shame!
  • 1 0
@ninjatarian: Yeah this is standard 148 boost and its just has a few outdated geometry numbers. You could go a Guerilla Gravity for cheaper.

Deals so dry they included a damn lawn chair
  • 14 0
 And for $45 no less!
  • 5 0
@neimbc: I'm old enough to remember all the adults in my family assing through that style of lawnchair on a regular basis! Have they changed much in the past 40 years?
  • 1 0
 I think we're being trolled
  • 5 0
you can get the same chair for $10 with a different brand name on it

We had those nylon strap folding chairs when I was a kid, and while my parents and grandparents include 5 year olds in their financial discussions, I'm not ready to believe those chairs cost more than $5-10 at Kmart. Or more than a three or four gallons of milk or gasoline, so don't say 'inflation.' GFY gen Y nostalgia Big Grin

I could be wrong. If anyone here is 55-60 years old and remembers exactly what they paid for an aluminum folding chair with brown and orange straps in a pre-walmart USA, I need to know for this sense of outrage I'm working on thanks
  • 7 0
But you don't understand, it's got a bicycle company name on it!
  • 2 0
@Snfoilhat: I looked it up on walmart, the cheapest I was seeing was $55.....
  • 18 0
In 2020, just being 'in stock' is considered a deal...

I look at the logistics of building a bicycle, and the marginal profits, and cringe until I die. Like Wal-Mart sells a Schwinn Cutback (it looks, you know, decent) for $100USD. You have to mine the chromoly, shape it into tubes, weld it, paint it, you know? And that's just the frame. I wouldn't even paint it for $100USD, let alone find all the ingredients for the paint, from freaking all around the world. In the end, the assembly line worker, the paint booth worker, the whoever knows else, engineer, are all getting like a 10 dollar (that's like 1 meal), if the bike even sells. It's just ridiculous, and unprofitable to bother, from my perspective.
  • 2 0
And 10 dollars is extremely generous, because you need, engineers, metallurgists, mine workers, paint specialists, painters, assembly workers, molds for the metal, extruders for the metal, a welder, with whatever goes into a welding machine. It's a nightmare.
  • 1 0
@Kramz: But you do that same kind of thing over and over with billions of items, and suddenly you are rich enough that your family owns a town (and lots of politicians).
  • 13 0
$100 for a 1000 lumen light, or $20 for an amazon Cree 800 lumen (2000 chinese lumens) light.

Why can't someone make a real 2000 lumen light for like $50? I don't ride every day with a light so it doesn't need to be the highest quality.
  • 2 0
Take a look at KDlight BL70.2s I have one with warm white 3000k xhp70.2 diode and it's extremely powerful with nice wide spread and no hotspots. With battery pack and 4x quality 3000mah batteries it will last about 4hrs at max power or 7-8hrs at medium.
  • 2 0
Look at outbound lighting. His website explains why. It's the best light I've used and it's worth every penny to me.
  • 6 0
Lol! Saw the chair... Ran straight for the comments!
  • 3 0
Let's jack the suggested retail price up and make the discounted price the normal price. Do these mfr's think we're stupid. (manufacturers or M***ER F****RS... either one works)
  • 5 0
 Melon Farmers?
  • 1 0
 @AndrewHornor: Yes! LOL
  • 4 0
Why in the world is a $15 lawn chair for $45 on Deals of the Month for a bike blog?!?!
  • 3 0
Don’t buy stuff from the competitive super shady dealings there. Don’t reply to emails or phone calls. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend to a friend
  • 2 1
While I haven't used them lately, competitive cyclist has been better than jenson in the past. I had a few bad experiences with jenson pre-covid, and competitive much faster and better.
  • 4 0
3/4ths of those items from Jenson are MSRP...c'mon now.
  • 3 1
If you sell on the Buy Sell - that is what half the offers you get!
  • 2 0
no typo's from calgary cycle huh?
  • 2 0
Best deal this season was the 40% off the Specialized Demo
  • 2 0
Thanks! I needed a good laugh.
  • 2 2
If you give me all this stuff free I will consider that a deal. I will even split the cost of shipping Beer

What happened too all the Intense steals?
  • 1 0
It's just not the same without intense deals
