Marin need to consider throwing in a free flight and a couple of weeks all paid for holiday to California, then just letting you keep that thing at the end of it, and even then it might get just get left at the air port..
  • 19 6
I was initially thinking it was a $4000 e-bike, which would be pretty good value.

But no, it's just ugly as f*ck.
  • 4 3
An buddy of mine who works at a marin dealer told me that they were including a free wolf ridge with the purchase of 4 other full sus bikes????
  • 15 1
I really don't think it's the ugliest bike out there. Also it's not a fashion show. They ride quite nicely.
  • 22 1
Those Marins are definitely ugly but the Eminent doesn't look much better sitting next to it...
  • 4 2
I didn’t know that February... 12th... was ugly bike day. Good to know.

@RoadStain: political interjection with every post.

Do you think about anything else?

How about you give some links to your favorite news sites.

Oh by the way...

 Not very Intense this month.

Some manufacturers are a bit of a recluse.

It's good Primer for next month's deals.

Good old Dunbar selling their discounted shit pricier than retail everywhere else. Well done!
  • 5 1
 They do price match
  • 6 3
I just bought a bike off them a month ago. Not one other shop could come close to the price they sold it to me for. Dunbar earned my business going forward. Great shop and top notch customer service.

 Ugly bike contest this month?
  • 9 0
it's no contest. They already have the winners.
  • 7 0
I don’t need any of this crap.

Check your tires if you buy from TBS. I purchased a DHF & DHR II(different widths) and both had the s/n's scratched off. Also, a number was scratched off the inside of the tire exposing the wires. I sent them back and they refunded me. Good customer service. Not saying don't buy from them, just check your stuff.
  • 4 1
Bought around 20 tires from TBS over the years. Zero issues with the best pricing on Maxxis and fast shipping.
  • 4 0
 tires have s/n's?
  • 6 1
They ship them without the Maxxis packaging as well... Just zip tied. Something fishy going on
  • 5 0
@behindbars88: suggests oem overstock. Serial numbers track which company/distri.
  • 2 0
@sethius: I figured it was factory workers selling them for cheap as their side hustle lol
  • 1 0
Direct from the Maxxis factory with large quantities is what I heard. Skip the middleman and pass the savings onto the end customer
  • 1 0
@DTD93: I contacted Maxxis about this and sent them pics of the tires. They said they couldn't help me as they don't sell to TBS.
  • 1 0
@Hauck: my understanding is Maxxis North America and Maxxis Taiwan are different companies that is probably why. Every Maxxis MTB tire is made in Taiwan. I'm guessing TBS buys direct as their prices are less than some distributors in North America. Crazy world!
  • 4 0
I wish I could test ride a wolf ridge just to see if it was worth making a bike that ugly. If it does ride amazingly well that's a pretty good price for an ugly bike.
  • 2 0
The wolf ridge seems to be the sleeper buy. Probably one of the best reviewed bikes out there that never took off because it’s ugly and a Marin.
  • 1 0
hey, I can post again! The submit button would disappear once I started typing, been that way for months. What the f*ck?
  • 1 0
Hah. Purgatory of the continent section?
  • 1 0
Is it bad that I scrolled straight to the comments without looking at the products first?
  • 5 4
ummm 10% off is no deal. Waste of my time again.
  • 4 3

@Boosting: gotta make a living somehow. Funny thing is they put more effort in online then their 3 staff did at the shop in squamish when I popped in to try on helmets. For 15 mins I tried on a bunch of helmets while the three of them played with the dog (super sweet dog btw, was the only one in the store that came to see me).

Got the size I wanted and then purchased online for significantly less.

I did drop off some dog treats a few days later for the one good employee.

@onemind123: Had a similar experience in the Vancouver store, found the staff to be less than helpful and ended up walking out. I'd rather spend my hard earned at a shop where at least they greet you when you walk through the door.
I stopped at Jacks Cycles in Chilliwack recently, I'll be going back there to buy my next bike.
  • 1 0
@Blackers: good to know - I am periodically out in Chilliwack and will take a peek at that shop.
  • 4 1
@Blackers: yeah, the Van store staff is not really nice. But I got superb service at Steed Cycles, up north Van
  • 1 0
Shout out to Jack’s Cycle in Chilliwack. Bought a new Norco Optic they built it out of the box and had it set up exactly to Norco’s ride align specs and wrapped next day. Paid retail but it’s a brand new model, they had good deals on apparel too. Also I always get great service at Life Cycles in Abbotsford they have great selection in stock all the time.
  • 5 5
That Marin seems pricey on sale. I couldn’t imagine someone buying that shot at full retail.
