The 2018 PB calendar had a much nicer spec...time to search the buy/sell ads...

That $1 calendar has $8 shipping. Crazy.

@Dethphist: $18 for the rest of the world

Get a grip Calgary Cycle! $920 for a 21mm internal rim on what's widely known as a garbage hub?! I just snagged a set of WeAreOne Agents on DT350s for $1100
  • 4 0
Agreed! Nowhere near being an actual 'deal'.

TBS warrantied my defective Sram Guide RS brakes "In House" within days. Great service and will continue to buy from them.

Thanks for the kind words! We price ourselves on having a quick and efficient warranty system.

Oh look! Full retail price (+) on wheel sets at Calgary Cycle! How great........they may as well be advertising for people to shop elsewhere.
  • 6 0
It is because Calgary Cycle is a joke cycle shop..

The bottom cap cable stop broke on my Fox Transfer dropper post. They (Calgary Cycle) informed me that it would cost me $200+ for a full rebuild of my dropper to fix that part.
I work in the industry, so knew right then they were trying to scam me.

Went through a shop that wasn't a scam, or just so incompetent that they didn't know that you just have to replace the bottom cap. Not a rebuild to replace that part..
And the fix cost me $60

Not to mention they never had the parts I wanted in stock. Anything that would go on a serious mountain bike will most likely Not be found there.

Calgary Cycle is for the casual hobby mountain bike rider, Fat bike rider or road rider.
If you actually know about Mountain bikes and pricing ; are particular in what you desire, and ride trails more difficult than "blue" this is probably not a shop for you.

The whole wheel thing drives me absolutely nuts. They never check all the boxes. Yes, yes, yes, oooohhhhh nooo massive catastrophe, it's not a circle.
  • 7 4
The bike industry collusion to take up margins makes me sick!
  • 1 1
Which is exactly why buying online a disservice in most cases. Eventually the margins will be the same.
  • 1 3
 Spoken like a true Trumpian.
  • 1 0
Lol, I really doubt there is any such collusion. I need to learn the interweb’s font for sarcasm.
  • 2 1
DOOD! Dare I say this is the first time I've seen some actual deals on here?! That Chromag, Reynolds wheels, and D3 helmet r actually damn good proces.
  • 2 0
Jenson sometimes has really good deals. I bought last year's fox rampage carbon for under $200.

Being in Canada the duty on bikes hurts now, plus some brands won't ship here like fox suspension, Chromag (ahem...) Giant, etc.

Not sure why someone would buy WR1 carbon wheels from Calgary cycle when the manufacturing facility is 8 hours away and they sell direct though...

I tried to order a troy lee helmet from Jenson a few months ago but they wouldnt ship to canada.
  • 3 0
 That v10...gorgeous

I use to Love TBS, But Rockshox refuse to Warranty my fork because I bought it there! such a piss off ! so now I don't buy rockshox anymore. Will most likely buy shot again at TBS tho.
  • 5 2
Shot... Comforting to see that Siri is as much of a Russian bot bitch on your phone as on mine.
  • 9 4
The Rockshox Pike I bought TBS had the serial # filed off.
  • 4 2
@imperial: i just wish there were upfront and saying that manufacture warranty will not apply!
  • 8 3
 @imperial: seriously? red fn flag
  • 2 0
@dutflip: They told me they would handle any warranty issues in house. Luckily my fork has performed flawlessly.
  • 2 0
I contacted them about warranty work for Shimano brakes and they said Shimano would eventually warranty them but they're pretty difficult about it. Not TBSbikeparts fault if the manufacturer itself is a pain in the ass to deal with. I just had a shop fix it for like $40 of labour rather than wait like 6 weeks for warranty replacement. I've had nothing but nightmares with rockshox warranty experience over the years that I won't buy their products anymore, even if they're heavily discounted.
  • 1 0
@imperial: Ha ! good to know!
  • 2 0
@gbeaks33: Shimano Did warranty my Brake leaver no question ask! Was just Rockshox! and there were saying that this is there only way they could deal with them been that Cheap! But I am sorry Rockshox this is the way to push aways costumer! I always bought Rockshox fork over fox because of the 2 years vs 1-year warranty! now my bike is all fox
  • 12 1
We do warranty in house and offer the exact same 2 year warranty as Rock Shox. If we can't fix your fork we will provide a new one. All our serial numbers are on our Rock Shox forks as well, we are happy to send a photo if you are interested in purchasing a fork. If you have any additional questions we are happy to answer them.  @TBSbikeparts: Yes just learn that thank you! just to late now! Was not again you guys but Rockshox
  • 3 2
@TBSbikeparts: My Pike purchased from you has its' serial number filed off as well. I can't sell it as a used part because nobody wants to buy a grey market fork without a serial number.

I was looking for an Intense deal but couldn't find one!
  • 2 0
Gotta make all the money they can to pay Gwin's salary haha
  • 3 6
shouldn't it better to promote local, small and passionate shops rather than the ones who slash the price ? just like that ...
it's nice to share the good deals but it makes them stronger and it kills the few small remaining shops ..
  • 8 1
The shops that adapt and provide any form of actually valuable service to customers will continue to get business. I had one where I lived previously. I've visited most shops in my new city and if you have any bike knowledge you are well above most of the employees.
  • 1 0
That is a good point, however the small shops need to reach out to BP for that top happen. If PB promotes a deal from some small shop who isn't able to handle a large influx of business than nobody benefits.

March muck deals , where bad prices and mud are equal.
  • 1 1
There is nothing bad about Mud
  • 1 2
Hmm, filed serial numbers... Please explain. Counterfeit? Stolen? Seconds?
