Nice victory for Bruni and his Banshee Legend !!

Wish Dean Lucas and his Trek Session did better.

I dont get the banshee legend joke.. did I miss a dual link design on the new demo ?
  • 7 2
For real! Those new specialized banshees are pretty neat.

@v3sleeper: Right. I figured it wasn't just me who thought it looked exactly like a Legend... Props to specialized, the Banshee Legend is one of the most beautiful DH bikes every designed. \
  • 5 0
@v3sleeper: to be fair the suspension design is different on the two. The legend uses its chainstay to activate the shock while the Demo uses the seatstay to actuate the shock via a lower link.

glad to see Danny Hart up there....killin it!.....again!

So Loris smashes himself into the ground at warp 10 like hes come off a motocross bike and carries on like nothing has happened, yet I lose my front wheel on a gravel turn and put myself out for 2 weeks with a busted shoulder. What an animal! Save of the day goes to brook mcdonald - how the hell did he hold on to that?!

So is a 10 second tome differential enough to stop people suggesting Valli Holl should race in elite yet? Let’s just let her enjoy an annihilation of the junior category before she steps up in the future.

Three americans in the top ten! Now that's something I haven't seen in 20 years.

Have to admit that I'd never heard of him until today, but he was really exciting to watch. He pumped the shit out of the hard pack compressions
  • 6 0
@IllestT: Agreed! Always exciting when an underdog and/or a privateer achieves a good/solid result in the elite category.

 What happened to Moir?
  • 22 0
 Yeahh

Good question. Seemed to be having a middle of the pack run until the last segment. Guessing he wipped out, which seems to be an odd place to do that (most that finished this low tended to crash earlier on).

Had a quick stop to scratch his balls i think.

So what are we calling this? “29-7” 6-59” ?? Seems to go all right then. Oh and telemetry will be all the rage in 2019

Did miss Atherton have problems in her run? Or did tahnee just kill it?
  • 18 0
 Welcome to a new era
  • 5 2
Rachel said she was super late starting training this year due to all the work that's gone into Atherton bikes. We've got like a month to the next round, and I reckon coming 2nd to Tahnee will motivate Rachel like nothing else. Next race will be awesome.

Bike needs more development. Her and Gee didn't look that comfortable
  • 16 3
No excuses, Tahnee rode faster. That is all.
  • 5 1
@Malky79: Atherton bikes need more work. Gee was bottoming where other guys bikes barely went into their travel. Also appeared less planted in the rough compared to even the new Scott bike. Maybe a slightly longer chainstay and a more progressive curve? Interested to see how they progress this season.

Putting a brand new bike from a new(ish) manufacturer on the podium was pretty remarkable. I'd agree with other comments, the bike didn't look totally settled, Rachel seemed to give that away when talking in the race review.
Fair play to Tahnee though, just a downright fast run from her.

Funny how quickly coming 9th can feel a bit underwhelming. I'm sure that year before last Amaury would have been so pleased with that. Now, not so much

 TAHHNEEEEEEEE!!!
  • 2 0
Also are just top 20 protected for next round? Lot of top names outside needing to qualify if so.
  • 2 1
If it’s the same as last year, anybody in the top 10 from last year will be protected all 2019 and then the ten highest non protected riders will also get protected. So I’m reality it’s probably the top ~15 that get protected I haven’t worked out who will and who won’t be but if I am remembering the change correctly that is what the protected riders rule changed to.

@jfkusa: cheers dude. Didn’t realise it went on last years overall results

  • 2 0
No, quali points are also included.

Exciting start for the season! Times are tight in the top 3!

I like that they’re putting the overall standings as well
