Here at team HQ, it’s been taking a little while to get all of our spangly new sponsor parts in, bikes built and sent out to riders. Phil was one of the first riders we got up and running on a fully dialled Propain TwoFace so we headed out to see what she could do, or rather what Phil could do with her... Just listen to that freehub! Here’s some filthy raw action from up north.

How to get Dirty in One Minute Thirty. Enjoy!

You can catch Phil at the first BDS round at AE Forest in Scotland, or at Lourdes for the first round of the World Cup.

Never heard a mention of mud in the UK, care to share your sources? ( other than the same old " thats why the brits do so well.. " that pops up in every single UK vid with wet dirt in )

Totally off subject but a colleague of mine just broke a 10 year old hope hub because his spokes were loose and Hope replaced the body and rebuilt the hub with new bearings for him for cost price (£40). What amazing customer service.
  • 2 0
They serviced and replaced parts on my old enduro 4's for free when I sent them in, they were happy that some one was still running them so sorted me out

@therealtylerdurden @MmmBones 190 POE and 30mm Zelvy Trail rims.RBL front to save weight, standard rear.
  • 1 0
@multialxndr Hopes are quiet compared to P321's !! Bloody hell you need earplugs for them Industry9 Torch drivers. Awesome though!!
  • 1 0
@TheMrPlow 30mm internal or external width? What's RBL?
  • 1 0
@TheMrPlow Thank you! Thats truly impressive! I didn't happen to see hubs on their own on the fun site, I'm guessing they're only available as a wheel set? Or are they not even in production currently?

Dude looks like he's turning like a skier.... on the east coast of the U.S.... where its all ice... and you need to hop to get any traction. The similarity is amazing really. And the style is really cool.

People don't give much note of it, but the east coast U.S. has practically the same dirt, and the same conditions now that it doesn't snow anymore because of climate change, lol - *really sad crying lol*. As it snows less, bicycling communities in New England will grow. If, in 50 years, downhill is still a sport like today, the east coast is going to be a powerhouse in DH just like the UK is today.

  • 3 0
How old was that wall he jumped at 0:47?! Thing looks older than ringo starr.
  • 4 1
Dry stone walls in the UK are usually hundreds of years old. They actually are kept under a heritage programme where if you have one you can actually get something called "Environmental Stewardship Funding" to pay to have it repaired, that stewardship I believe actually partly comes from the EU as it falls under maintaining national heritage.
  • 2 2
Why would you need funding for it to be repaired? It's a dry stone wall. Stones fall off, just stack them back on top.
  • 1 1
@EddB But if it becomes too much for someone to rebuild (An elderly person perhaps?) that's I guess when its at its most useful/needed.
  • 2 0
 Yeh fair enough

Thought exactly the same haha. Does anyone knows the brand of the hub, so I can avoid it? Big Grin

I think between the months off December and February I think pinkbike should be restricted to uk only content.
  • 2 2
@ja81 www.currentresults.com/Weather/Canada/British-Columbia/precipitation-annual-average.php , www.currentresults.com/Weather/United-Kingdom/average-yearly-precipitation.php . To be fair, the north UK gets closer amounts to the more populated areas of BC, but there is still a distinct difference on the overall average railfall and wet weather days.
  • 1 0
From living in both the rain does fall harder in North Van but for some reason the amount of mud is way less in the north of the UK. Could be better trail maintenance or that all the mud has been washed away haha

  • 4 1
I got cussed out once for riding muddy trails. I kept riding cause yolo
  • 1 2
Smile Don't forget, fresh muddy ruts need to be ridden for months so they bed down to rock. Whenever I build trails I ride them in slop sludge and mank and encourage everyone else to do the same. Love it mate, not much else beats the feeling of holding a claggy rut line so fast you're sure you're about to flip off any second but somehow pull it off.
