Race Report: Joe Nation and Rae Morrison Win the Final Round of the Asia Pacific Enduro Series

The fourth and final stop of the EWS Continental series unfolded at Christchurch Adventure Park on Saturday in the Phoenix Enduro.

Unfortunately, round three, the Aorere Enduro, which was due to take place in Nelson, New Zealand last weekend, had to be cancelled due to a large forest fire in the Nelson Tasman region. It’s a situation Christchurch Adventure Park can relate to, having themselves suffered a devastating fire in 2017, just two months after they opened, with the park reopening in December 2017.

A little over 39km and 1950m of vertical lay ahead for the riders, spread over six stages - four in the bike park and two a short pedal over to Victoria Park. Going in it was going to be a tough ask for anyone to stop Joe Nation taking the top step - he's the local with most KOM's after all.

Full face helmet + short sleeve t-shirt. The uniform of the Modern Endurosapien, apparently.
