The week has been long and packed front to back with many big wins, but there is one more matter of business to attend to. Tracy Hannah and Troy Brosnan return to Whistler to round out the week with a three-peat Crankworx win (Tracy) and a five-peat Canadian Open win (Troy). Valentina Höll and Myriam Nicole round out the podium for the women while Bruce Klein and Kirk Mcdowall do it for the men.

@Mooka: don’t forget prize money is not how these athletes make their living. They are employees of the marketing department for their respective sponsors and paid accordingly. Prize money at events like this are intended to be for after parties and/or a nice salary bonus.

@HurricaneCycles: from what I hear they are usually 1099 employees (individual contractors) w/ no healthcare, benefits, etc

@marxbix: for the most part yes unfortunately, but I wasn’t talking about the amount and type of compensation. Only that prize money is not their main income as so many people seem to think.
